Description

Four engaging compositions by one of Russia's most revered film composers, also active as an orchestral and chamber music composer. The earliest work here is his beautiful 1955 Vocalise. The violin/piano Melody dates from 1964. Ovchinnikov, best known for his "War and Peace" (Soviet cinema) orchestra score, composed six orchestral Suites, Nos. 4 & 5 both written in 1969.
