A important work on the spiritual discipline of prayer
Deeply biblical and full of real life applications. This is a faith filled and powerful but easily readable and digestible book on prayer. I highly recommend it.

Not the best book on Prayer but it is still helpful.
The Daniel Prayer: Prayer That Moves Heaven and Changes NationsThe topic of prayer brings up alot of questions for us...Does God only hear the prayers of good people? How do I know the God to whom I pray will listen? How do I know God cares about my prayer? How do I know God will answer my prayer? Why should I pray?Does it matter where I am when I pray? Are words in prayer all that matter, or does my attitude affect prayer? What difference does my prayer make? MY REVIEW:Prayer is a topic that can be challenging for many. I have read several books on prayer and with them different viewpoints on the purpose of prayer in general. Prayer is a topic which is both encouraging and discouraging at the same time. Many of us want to learn how to be more effective in our prayer lives, but at the same time when we begin to read about how to improve our prayer lives we sense how inadequate we actually are in our current prayer lives.Anne Graham Lotz, the daughter of famed evangelist Billy Graham, has written a book based on the prayer life of the prophet Daniel, specifically framing the book around Danielโs prayer in Daniel chapter 9. Overall the book focuses on prayer centered on national revival. The first section of the book lays the groundwork of Lotz discovering the principles of The Daniel Prayer, and her personal journey into her discoveries and utilization of these principles. Section 2 deals with Pleading in Prayer, discussing the earnestness of prayer, and not simply to ask and then turn away to other ventures. In section 3 of the book, Lotz discusses the topic of Prevailing in Prayer, in which she discusses the timing of how and when God answers prayers. While I strongly dislike trying to teach formulaic prayer styles or patterns, Lotz has done a nice job of presenting a prayer strategy rather than a prayer formula. She has presented principles for prayer, and developed their presentation using the Bible as a basis. For example, in section 4 she presents patterns for prayer: A Prayer that is Centered, A Prayer that is Compelled, A Prayer that is Confident, A Prayer that is Contrite, etc. With each principle, she presents a passages from the Bible, then gives an example of the type of prayer to which she is referring. All in all, this is a good book in helping focus oneโs prayer life. My views on prayer in general do differ than Lotz in some places in this book. Books that hold the premise of โclaiming the promises of Godโ as if we have to hold God to these promises or remind Him of them, seem to fall short of recognition of His Character. I do however think Lotz does well though to center prayer on trusting God. For this reason, I cannot give my highest review, but I do believe when read with a discerning heart, readers will find many beneficial pointers and principles to help them in their prayer lives.Note: I received a copy of this book from the publisher in exchange for a fair and unbiased review. The thoughts expressed are my own.

This was my second copy to buy. Anne Graham Lotz always writes a great book with meaningful studies. This book is so timely and timeless, for when has our nation needed more prayers than right now?

Beautiful
When words are more than words but speak to what your heart is saying to you, that is what this book was to me. God used it to remind me that my purpose is to read and then share God's word and pray the enemy away. What a powerful reminder that God uses His children to do His work in this world. Read this to be encouraged to keep praying, keep humble, and keep alert.

Learning to pray, the Daniel way
This is the first book I've read by Anne Graham Lotz, but I am sure it won't be the last. The author has a compelling voice that teaches us the fundamental method of prayer using Daniel as an example. It was an exhortation, not just to learn about prayer, but to put it into action.

Well worth waiting for!
I preordered Anne's book and I'm happily snnouncing it was well worth the wait! I had been lead to study and learn more about prayer, and Anne's new book came into my awareness through one of those coincidences (God winks) and I placed my order. I've not previously read any of Anne's books, many by her Father, but I've listened to many messages on video enough to know she carries what her daddy carried and she carries it well. My favorite part of the book was her reselling of the story of the old man at Niagra Falls allowing himself to be pushed across the falls in a wheelbarrow. Sharing the belief that faith is like s muscle that grows stronger and stronger the more we use it. Thank you Anne for the time, thought, and care you invested in the writing of this book. I loved it and my wait was worth it.

Praying for Millennials
Thanks to Anne for her incredible teaching on prayer. I especially appreciate the teaching on the importance of long-haul praying. There are some things that it seems like I've been praying for my entire life. Daniel prayed for some things for his entire life also. So, if we want to be like Daniel, we can't give up. We need to keep praying for the long-haul.This challenges becomes real for many as they lament the life-wounding decisions their Millennial children and grandchildren have made and are making. However, Daniel's encouragement to us is to never give up and keep praying for them. When we are like Daniel in our prayers, God can make Daniel out of the Millennials that we are mentoring, coaching and discipling.
