Parenting God's Way

Short but true
A quick read and I like that it is separated by dad and mom. I love listening to Mr. Begg's sermons and he preaches and writes from God's Word.

This is a good way to do outreach for parents
This is a helpful book. Small, easy to read, and it is basically an exposition of Eph. 5&6. We were able to use this to do an outreach towards parents who are not following the Lord. Let's face it, parenting is hard. Sometimes, the wisdom offered in the Scriptures is a way to expose folks to the truth of who Jesus is. Then, it is between them and the Lord!

Parenting God's way....NOT OURS.
This is about parenting God's way, as opposed to our own ways of parenting. The title is clear and the book is exactly just as the title says.Parenting MY way has not produced the results or peace I was hoping for. I read many other parenting books, and listened to several tips, ideas and experiences. Some things helped for just a short time. Eventually, I decided that maybe there is another way to parent... God's way. I found this book, and it took so much pressure off of the parenting experience...it gave me a fresh way of looking at things. It made me laugh, tear up and feel at ease. If you are a true believer in the Father of all children, including your adult self...then this is a great book.

Zero stars if I could.
Biblically inaccurate and based solely on cultural norms.

Not great
Not great, especially the part on motherhood. The theology seemed iffy and lacking nuance, like suggesting godly parenting will necessarily produce godly kids. I felt like it lacked the heart of motherhood, and focused on domestic duties (including a stereotype of an incompetent husband who doesn't know how to use a vacuum cleaner). It emphasized the biological importance of mothers without a word on adoption. There are better materials out there on biblical parenting.
