Q: how they get Himalayan salt? This doesn’t make sense… just a name only??? Legal loophole?

I use the salt myself and have been a professional geologist for 50 years, it is indeed from one of several Himalayan salt mines. ALL salt is "sea salt" even in the Himalayan mountains previously deposited in a long evaporated ancient sea. The red color comes from iron oxide aka "rust". The difference between any mined salt and "sea salt" is that the sea salt sold in stores is evaporated into pretty crystals ideal for margaritas and the like. All salt is pure Halite NaCl, impurities may exist, hence, Himalayan salt, Celtic salt and the like. Geology 101. In other words buy it if you like it, not because it is better, it is in reality all the same.

Q: Does this supply the fda recommended amount of iodine? or any?

Himalayan salt is 100% natural & doesn't have any added iodine. It has very small amounts, but is not a dietary source of iodine.

I would think not but I don't know for sure. They claim: "Himalayan pink salt is the purest salt found on the earth. It is directly sourced from the heart of the Himalayan Mountains of Pakistan....It is unprocessed, hand-selected, hand-mined, hand-washed, and sun-dried. It is 100% natural unrefined salt; it does not go through any rigorous processing. Pink Himalayan salt is free from any additives, chemicals, or preservatives."
