Decent materials, works for what it is
Decent materials, works for what it is. Was able to make decent quality patch cords for my guitar pedal effects board at desired length for a good price. The sound quality is fine for my use.

Buena calidad
Buena calidad del cable, un poco rígido pero funcional, los conectores son buenos, un poco más gruesos que los “flat pancake” pero mejores que los demás en ahorro de espacio, son fáciles de soldar y resistentes. Recomendables por espacio y presupuesto.

Quality, reliable cables
For the price, you can't go wrong. I tried solderless sets in this price range but they were unreliable and actually more difficult to assemble. Ordered another set to replace the solder-free set I already had

Serviceable quality, but very strong value.
I worked in the industry wiring guitar rigs for major touring acts and have spent literally thousands of hours behind the iron and have made thousands of cables of all types and varieties including patch cables using pancake plugs like this. I would consider myself an expert in this very niche (and mostly useless outside in the real world) skill set. These GLS pancakes are of decent quality but you will generally run into a few issues: the solder tabs might not be properly plated, so they will not take solder easily; the screw holes will strip out or are not threaded properly; or the solder tab for the hot lead may be very close to the outer housing to to not being kept at a 90 degree angle during the manufacturing process and rotating up towards the top.Besides that, these plugs are of fairly similar quality to the Switchcraft pancake plugs, and even those can be very inconsistent, particularly with the screw holes not being threaded (in bulk bags of 100, there were sometimes as many as 5 with bad screw holes. That’s a high defect rate for such a simple product made by the top American brand). I like these GLS plugs and wouldn’t hesitate to wire a touring rig with them. The cable in this kit is good for this application purely from a manufacturing perspective (I won’t comment on audio quality because everyone’s rigs are different and audio quality is highly subjective). The cable has a very thick but flexible and easily strippable outer jacket. The ground is a twisted strand style, so it makes assembly very quick, and it lets the cable also twist if you need to rotate a plug without putting stress on your solder joints (twisted strand ground cable is much more forgiving than braided ground cable if you need to turn a plug around to face backwards or at an odd angle after soldering). Probably the most important aspect is the hot lead’s insulator is a stiff and very heat resistant coating, which means if you’re a novice or have trouble getting solder to stick to your solder tabs, you won’t melt past the insulator on the hot lead while you’re trying to get your ground soldered properly (lots of novice cable failures happen at the base of where the ground is twisted tightly around the hot lead—it just heats up and melts through the insulator and shorts against the hot lead during assembly if your iron isn’t hot enough or if you’re just holding your iron on the solder tab for way too long).I’d give this kit a solid 4 stars. Nothing here is premium or necessarily high quality, but it’s more than enough for pretty much any application and considering how cheap this kit is, it’s a total no brainer. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this to any player needing to build a decent rig.Just don’t blame the kit if you suck at soldering.
