Half Broke Horses by Jeannette Walls (2010-08-05)

Jannette Walls true story of her and her family's dirt poor and totally unstable lives is extraordinary. I also bought the cd versions of The Glass Castle and Half Broke Horses (the latter the story of her also amazing grandmother's life). I never wanted to stop reading or listening to these. Her writing style, and her reading voice are a true gift to us all.

I listened to the audio book and read Jeanette Walls "Glass Castle". Anyway, loved them both.I bought a bunch of copies to give to relatives and friends for birthdays and holidays.Both books are well written and give insight into some things I've never understood.Now I see a little more clearly why and it puts my mind at ease. A very interesting life style.Action and history at the same time. I really admire Jeanette Walls for writing these books.The stories give you more respect for the old timers who lived through some rough events in history.

But read THE GLASS CASTLE first. This book lets you see similarities between Jeannette and her grandmother. Both really smart women!

I liked this one even better than Glass Castles! Great story about a tough western woman

Every book by Jeannette Walls is a great read. I definitely recommend it.

Wonderful story of a strong woman. If you've read Glass Castles it gives insight into the author's mother and why she ended up being who she was.

Her stories really touch the heart. A nice read
