I walk my dog at night before bed and I needed some extra protection, so this is one of the things I thought would be perfect.This thing is LOUD! We tested it and completely freaked out the dog.I would worry that the button would get accidentally pressed, but so far that hasn’t happened. I like the cancel button on the back also. You can just turn it off.Thumbs up!

I keep it clipped to my bra strap. I feel a seizure coming on and I have roughly 1-2 minutes to alert someone and get myself into a safe position. If I can't yell out, or if I'm not loud enough, this certainly is. (We call him Screamin' Eddy.) On multiple occasions I have gone down, already seized up and mouth clenched, unable to cry out. Once my parents were heading out the garage door to a dinner. When I went down I hit my head hard and had quite a gash. As I clenched up, before I fell, I was able to hit the buzzer, and my mom came running back in. Had they not heard it, I could have been lying there bleeding for 3 hours. I also used this in a parking lot to get attention of others around when my ex spotted me and decides to try and intimidate me. I wasn't having that, and neither was the 280+ lb marine whose attention I got LOL. I RECOMEND THIS ALARM HIGHLY. it's very, very loud.

Purchased this alarm for my 75+ year old mom. Not for reasons that others are using them from what I have read. While going out to fill the bird bath she had 2 fawns that were not scared away from her yelling at them, or the strong barks from a #5 Micro Yorkie. Thinking that this should easily scare the deer and send them on their way, far away from her I bought this. Well they seem to just look around and wonder where the sound is coming from, not being scared in the least.But it seems to work very well and getting the rabbits to flee, and now after owning for a few weeks, she has also had a run in with 3 Sand hill cranes and this alarm worked great on getting away from her birdbath that is meant for a little bit smaller birds.I really have no idea how this may work for alerting someone in danger from say a mugger or a thief. I might this with all the other sounds in a city, it may just become a background noise as a car alarms that seem to be going off in most large parking lots.I will tell you if turned on indoors it is very loud and would be noticed quickly in any enclosed area such a parking ramp. As for out in the peacefully rural areas, my guess is most large animal don’t really care. It just keeps me still looking for other options besides sending her out with a pistol for protection against all the large critters messing with her birdbath and flowers.

Very LOUD and easy to use! A bit too easy actually as have activated it accidentally just by looking for something in my purse and touching it! Certainly gets people’s attention which is what I want since I walk my dogs at all hours of the day and night.

Makes a very loud noise and attracts attention

I bought this as a gift for my sister. She lives in Washington,DC with walking, buses, and the metro as her main forms of transportation. After a woman was sexually assaulted raped on the metro, I thought she could use this (as well as some pepper spray). It is very lightweight and easy to keep on a key chain. It is VERY LOUD!!!!! So it will definitely scare off a would be attacker if there are others around. I own a similar one where you pull the pin. I decided to get this one with the button for her because you may not want it going off for a prolonged period of time in an enclosed space. It is easier to just remove you finder from the button than replacing the pin. I think any person would benefit from owning this.

I was expecting. But it wasnt an item in a box marked made in China. It just give me that McDonald's toy kinda feeling. It did make a reasonably enough load noise and hopefully it will give me a better sense of comfort when I'm out on the trails, than it did when I first laid my eyes on it.

Bought one each for my daughters and myself and so far we are pleased. I like that it has the whistle as an option. And the alarm is a little different from most car alarms, that most of us ignore, so others more likely to take notice. Only criticism is that it’s a bit larger than I’d like.
