Had a crack
It's an amazing concert and I highly recommend it! Having said that, I must include this: I got this used. It came in an Amazon bubble wrap envelope. When I took it out of the mailer, I noticed it was pressed down on the top center of the DVD case. It had a 3/8" hairline crack going from the center hole toward the edge of the disc. It was a gift, so I made sure it worked (it did). But still, there should have been better care taken with packaging!!

Great Performance..
This performance of the Eagles is my favorite. The opening song "Hotel California" is the best rendition I love. Joe Walsh and Don Felder are my favorite members, then, Timothy B. Schmit and of course, Don Henley. Not much of a Glen Frey fan.

The ABSOLUTE "BENCHMARK" DVD concert !
From the opening acoustic guitar solo and rhythmic beats of the bass drum, that leave no doubt you're listening to the haunting classic `Hotel California,' this DVD is an absolute jewel! The Eagles have never sounded better than they do in this concert performance; and I'm speaking as a fan who jumped on this bandwagon before Joe Walsh joined the group. Most of their best classic tunes, from `Take It Easy' to `Desperado,' are included with a few soon-to-be classics thrown in for good measure. The production quality of this DVD is nothing short of exemplary. Those reviewers who tell you to measure all other DVD music videos by this one are not exaggerating. Every camera shot, lighting change, pluck of a cord, tickle of the ivories, and drum beat are exquisitely reproduced to the point that you'll think you're sitting in the first row (especially, if you're watching this on a bigscreen TV). Yes, the DTS audio is superb, but the DD encoding should not to be dismissed. The sound quality of both formats sets the bar in the stratosphere. I have yet to show this DVD video to any of my music lover friends who haven't asked where they can get a copy, and most have. Even my sweet old parents, who never knew an Eagle from a Doobie Brother had to have this DVD. Buy this DVD and you'll treasure it above all others.

Demo quality DTS
While the 2.0 track is very good, the true star of this DVD is the soundtrack in DTS version. Make sure you have a killer subwoofer, turn it up, and close your eyes when the string intro to "Hotel California" kicks in and you'll think you're in the audience at the concert. Amazing sound quality, superb performances and very good choice of songs, from their old hits to their new stuff. The video quality isn't top notch, but this is basically a recording of a concert, and the music should be king -- and in "Hell Freezes Over" the music is indeed king. For the geeks out there, the average bit rate seemed to be ~7 or so. I only looked periodically, so I think that's right. What that amounts to is more space was devoted to high quality sound reproduction and so that means there's less space for "extras" -- well, there are virtually no extras on this disk.If you liked the Eagles, you'll LOVE this DVD. If you loved the Eagles, you'll be blown away. It's too bad that this DVD is still the standard by which all other concert DVDs are judged against, meaning that the studios haven't stepped up to produce more top quality concert DVDs.

A must-have for serious Eagles Fans
PROS:- very well recorded "live/studio" performance.- superb musicianship and professionalism.- best Hotel California performance ever.CONS:- too few Eagles hits, to many "Henley-centric" songs.- too short- sorry folks, not in high def video, but decent for NTSC video.I enjoyed this 1998 reunion "concert" very much, especially due to the fledgling but great DTS audio 5.1 mix. But the 2005 "Farewell Tour" in Melbourne has far greater content on two DVDs. It has much of their most beloved songs, delivered with equal or even greater energy.Note: if this performance was filmed rather than NTSC video-taped, we may eventually see a high-def video version. However those cameras all looked video to me, so don't wait around for it!.

Kindle is not made for Music Notes.
To whom it may concern. Kindle is really giving me problems to read Music Notes, it doesn't increase the size of the notes. If you are planning to get a digital version of this product, look for a PDF. If not, go and get the physical book. Or else you will end up with tiny images if you want to use your phone to read the notes. Even laptops won't do much. Probably I will need to use my 55" TV to enjoy this music book. -_-

Miracles can happen, Hell finally froze.
I wish now that I could have been there but this is probably the next best thing. I bought the video expecting it to be good but I was shocked at just how good it was. The video kicks of with interviews from four of the band, (Glenn Frey did not get interviewed). They talk about why they decided to get back together and how they get on much better now, more mature etc, then comes the show. The first track "Hotel California" is their biggest selling song, but instead of being the original hardrock version they mellowed it and did an accoustic version which is really different and brilliant. The guitar solos are superb, with Don Felder and Joe Walsh working together perfectly. "Tequila Sunrise" and "Help Me Make It Through The Night" are also accoustic versions. "The Heart Of The Matter" is a song from Don Henley's solo career and is very well done with superb vocal harmonies. "Love Will Keep Us Alive" sung by Timothy B Schmitt and "Learn To Be Still" are both new songs which received their debut and are extremely good. Part two kicks of with "Pretty Maids All In A Row" sung by Joe Walsh, then another debut "The Girl From Yesterday". "Wasted Time" shows of Henley's vocals to perfection, then for me the highlight "I Can't Tell You Why" with a brilliant guitar solo from now fired member Don Felder and outstanding vocals from TBS. "New York Minute" is also a Henley solo song, and for me shows exactly how good a bassist TBS is. After that it's "The Last Resort" from the "Hotel California" album, then it's back to rock n' roll with "Take It Easy" their very first big hit."Life In The Fast Lane" and "In The City" are both rockers, as is the forth and final debut song "Get Over It". The set ends with "Desperado" one of their oldest songs and still a timeless classic. I also have to add that they were accompanied by a full orchesta during most of their songs, something I did not expect to see but definately worked well. The harmonies are spot-on throughout the show and raised the hair on the back of my neck. There are even out-takes including Henley messing up the vocals on "Learn To Be Still" just as he predicted. I have to admit I am a big fan and I really enjoyed it. Definately one to add to your collection.

Playback issues
Played for 20 minutes and then continually stopped and skipped. Cleaned the disc but no improvement. Tried on different player and still the same result. Not worth returning for the price but buyer beware cheap and justified caution at this price. My fault for being economical.!

Real Copy?
I had this DVD previously and the concert is absolutely awesome. Unfortunately it is not a good copy with a blip half way through, and this for the dearest option. I thought I would be sure of the quality by paying a high price. It is always complicated to return things.I will think carefully about using Amazon again as I don't believe they have sufficient checks in place to check on their suppliers.

An absolute MUST have
Apart from the 'silly' menu configuration and the fact that I get no audio?? when playing it on the PC (works fine in my stand-alone Yamada DVD 6100), the content is incredible. It's worth the money for the 'sit down' accoustic version of Hotel California alone.A quick review...The RehearsalThey don't add any instruments till the LIVE harmonies are perfect. This attention to LIVE perfection is continued throughout, notably when trying to get the Burbank Symphony Orchestra to put a bit more of a 'bluesy' feel into their string arrangement. The SetTequila Sunrise... stunning performanceThe Heart Of The Matter, Wasted Time and New York Minute make the goosebumps rise with the incredible emotion of the vocals.Life in the Fast lane... is somehow impossibly better than the studio version.I Cant Tell You Why... Timothy's vocals make you want to cry.Get Over It... just rocks....plus a load of new material.Ending with a definitive version of 'Desperado' no Eagles fan can afford not to own this DVD.The gig opens with one of the all time memorable rock quotes..."We never split up... we just took a fourteen year vacation"TRUE
