Great story set in 1970s Lancashire
Great story with a fast moving exciting plot on the background of 1970s rugby league and Lancashire mining towns.

Memories , memories
An enjoyable read . Mainly because it brought back memories of the 70’s to me being a Leigh , Lancashire lass. Think anyone from the area could not help but love reading this . Despite it being fiction and the pit Redmans being made up it was based on the authors memories of being a miner and totally true to life . My memories of the local mining community are if my grandads both working in the pits during my childhood in the 50’s and coming home filthy and washing in the back yard! In 1971 the trip to Wembley and subsequent win for Leigh Rugby league team is also a bug memory for me . My hubby and friends went to the match and the return of the team on the Sunday evening as they toured Leigh on the team bus was something to behold ! Read and enjoy and share with the younger folk too . Thank you Mr Birchall for putting your memories to print in a special way .

Fantastic Book
This book was easy to read, the story line down to earth and entertaining. It has a continual build up to a crescendo at the end. Lancastrian words used here and there but it is the way they speak and its easy to understand. This is the authors second book (Men of Coal being the first) and both are colliery based .The author, in my view, is on a par with Rebecca Tope, Ruth Rendell and Janie Bolitho. You must buy this book. Brilliant
