Nice
Lovely little story. An amusing farce in some respects that makes you smile. Great hero and likeable heroine. A slightly ridiculous plot but overall a very enjoyable read.

*Feel-Good*Rom-Com*Heart-Warming*
Jack Audley, a highwayman, holds up a carriage containing the Dowager Duchess of Wydham and her companion Grace Eversleigh. The Dowager is convinced Jack is absolutely like her deceased son and therefore possibly her grandson, and the question to uncover whether Jack is indeed the lost Duke of Wyndham becomes necessary. This is a feel-good audiobook, at the heart is a love story between Jack and Grace, that is believable, heartwarming, and genuine, without being saccharine in any way. There are also some excellent side plots and secondary characters who add immensely to the story.Overall, another excellent and fun romantic story from Julia Quinn, with fantastic narration from Rosalyn Landor bringing all the different characters to life. This is a standalone story and is part 1 of a companion duet.

Refreshing storyline
I throughly enjoyed this. A different storyline, a criminal taking the reign of the dukedom! The tension in this story, the MMC being instantly mesmerised by the MFC, determined to make her fall Inlove with him, even though everyone tells them it can’t happen, a duke could never marry a companion. Regardless of all that, the MMC was head strong and didn’t listen to anyone, the MFC wanted nothing but to find someone to settle down with after her horrific loss and live a simple but contented life. The plot to this story was brilliantly written, anticipation building awaiting for the unknown results, I love how she had managed to add necessary scenes to really grow the story before revealing the answers we so patiently waited for.

good but not brilliant
I have to say first off, that I am a big fan of Julia Quinn, and have read most of her books. This one was a nice read, and in parts quite witty, but it is missing something and I cannt even put my finger on what it is. I enjoyed it, dont get me wrong! but it didnt enthrall me in the way that others have. I still think it is well worth a read, and I will probably go ahead and get the 2nd book as well, but I am just that tiny bit reserved in my praise because this story isnt brilliantly good, which Julia's usually are. Having said that, Julia on a not-so-good day still outshines many other regency writers!! and I found the leading man to be charming and fun. I dont regret reading this, but I probably will not do so again, and thats rare for Julia Quinn, I can always re read her and enjoy the story again.

An Interesting Story
This book held my attention from the start. Jack held up a coach only to find his grandmother and her companion, Grace, inside. The Dowager recognised him as her long lost grandson. Jack is introduced to the Wyndham family as the lost heir to the Dukedom. Whilst staying with the family, Jack falls deeply in love with Grace. He wants to marry her but if he is really the Duke it may prove difficult. The search for proof of his parents' marriage, takes them to Ireland. Will they find the proof? Will Jack be announced as the new Duke? Will he be able to marry Grace? Read on and enjoy. I really liked the way the relationship developed and also the way that Jack's dyslexia is handled by Grace.

A fun tale
Premise of the story unusual and well detailed. All the characters very well developed. Lots of funny, poignant, romantic scenes plenty drama. A few loose ends not tied up. His family ring never presented perhaps if I missed it it was due to skimming. Yes I found the narrative a bit superficial and immature at times and the format irritating . Double spacing most unnecessary.

delightful!
The characters develop and the adventure/ mystery is on! The descriptive author, had the details of the castle and the virtues of the heroine merrily rolling along.

Cansativo
Um dos poucos que cansei. Leitura gostosa no início, mas se perde do meio para o fim. Cheguei a cochilar lendo. Tem bastante do famoso "enchendo linguiça"

Book is ok
The book is ok, I liked it. Reading is easy and the author describes each scene pretty good. I would love to have more details in the story though but in general is ok.
