I really appreciate the way the book was put together. The author provides so many recipes with ingredients that are very easy to find. She also weaves her personal story throughout, which is refreshing. I spend a lot of time trying to find recipes online and wonder if will they really work. I loved the regional description of Sojourner's travel escapades leading into an in depth description of natural skincare with local history of how these ingredients came into use. What ever happened to the spider?

The recipes are easy to follow and I think they have worked well. I really love the facial serums. The book has also inspired me to want to travel again. I recommend the book for yourself or a great gift for someone who is interested in making their own products but is not sure where to start.
