I have only been flying a couple of months and wanted to step up from the hs 120 which is an excellent entry point ; not too expensive not to cheap. I wanted something more though as I was looking for better video quality and more stability when flying . As a beginner this was the perfect next step. The unit is solid and well made. The package came with a very nice case , two batteries, extra blades and nice owners manual. Easier to setup then the 120 as once you turn the drone on the wifi is picked up easily. Calibration was a snap with excellent lighting on the drone. I tested the return to home, follow me and circle me options and they all worked great. The video and photo quality of the 4k camera is very nice. As a beginner I am still working on not having jerky movements when adjusting the camera angles. Overall very happy with this drone. Would have been nice if you could fold the props because otherwise to put back in the case you have to remove them each time. Also even though the books are excellent it would be nice to have a quick start guide for us newbies. Step one turn on the drone , step 2 turn on the remote and what lights to look for at each step etc. . But that's just because I am new at this . I guess people that have been flying a while don't need that. One small thing Holy Stone should go ahead and include the batteries for the remote and a small sd card so its ready to use when you get it. Also, the drone batteries do take several hours to charge and you simply use the included usb cords. Be sure to check the amperage of your charger per the owners manual recommendations so as not to overcharge. Holy Stone customer service has a great reputation and is always there to help. Again very happy with the purchase and considering all you get in the package ; I feel its an overall very good value. Looking forward to much more flying. Oh by the way be sure and register as this is over the minimum weight. It's quick and easy and only $5 bucks for hobbyists. You only have to register once for all your drones. I think you will be very happy with this drone.

I was looking for a mid class drone to update my girls setup. After much research and videos, I pulled the trigger on this one. The price was in the low range of what I was looking for. I was not disappointed when I opened the package. The drone is sturdy, great landing gear, the quick connect mechanism for the props is very unique and secure. We set it up quickly, and after watching a few other videos on it, we decided to give it a go. The drone hovered in place very well! Just so cool to look at standing still in place! The camera takes great pictures and video, when maneuvered properly. I really dig how you can take straight down shots by adjusting the camera tilt. Even at night taking it for a spin, it captures awesome images. We’re still exploring the other features it has. Once we feel like we can start messing with those, we will and I’ll update review. Battery life is great. Thought drone came with 2 batteries, but it comes with one. Maybe i heard it came with two from a YouTube review or something. Either way, great battery life and the indicator lights on it are nice. It doesn’t fold in like other drones out there. I was not looking for that feature, which was another reason why I decided on it. Customer service is on top of things! I read a few reviews talking about it, and they weren’t lying. Have sent and received emails from customer service in a very timely manner. Something that is becoming rare these days, but very good business practice. Overall I feel this drone is a great purchase. Built solid. Flys and hovers solid. Resists some mild wind. Very cool and awesome looking. The lights are great as well. The customer service is what completes it. If you’re on the fence for this one, just do it. You won’t regret it!

Good drone, got it set up and running pretty quick. It wouldn't start the first time and the app said 'Can't take off without idle mode' but the manual doesn't mention idle mode anywhere. I had no idea what it meant or how to turn it on or what the deal was. I turned everything off, turned it all on again, and it worked. I should have included in my original review that I *think* idle mode is started with a quick press of the lock button on the controller, which starts the propellers but doesn't cause it to take off. I use the app on my Galaxy Note Ultra 20 and the clip holds it fine, even in a case. You have to connect to the drone's network to fly, but that's not a problem. The picture is good, but it doesn't control very precisely. If you just let it hover, it will sway right and left, fly a little in one direction or another, and it never seems to respond tightly to the controls. It does fly and you can generally fly it around no problem, but it will add English (like in billiards, I mean, you know, spin) to any direction you give it, so for precise movements this would not be a good choice. VERY IMPORTANT: Turn off beginner mode in the settings! If you don't, it will greatly limit the range and control you have over the drone. The manual doesn't mention it, and I only discovered that through an obscure Reddit post. I almost thought it was defective and was going to return it until I found that info.

Bought two of these drones and they both had the same issue the controller and the drone would not pair. Called support and they said to move to a different location so I moved to three different locations, down the street and an open field and what I want vacation about 50 miles away and a open field and it’s still would not pair both of them. My experience with support was a representative reading from a script doing all the troubleshooting that I did actually less because I visited forums and spoke to current and previous owners of this drone that had similar issues. Save yourself your time, money, effort, energy, and avoid this company or at least this model drone. The drone looks cool well built and the price keeps coming down. I think they originally started at 250. I bought mine for $95 and now they’re at $79 so what does that tell you? They know there’s a problem and they’re just trying to get rid of them. Junk avoid.

The Holy Stone HS700E is an excellent drone! When I got this drone I plugged in the batteries which charged in a few hours. After charging the 2 included batteries I took the drone out to fly. The pairing on the remote and calibration of the drone was a breeze and it was in the air in a minute. The drone flew extremely well and for a long time too. The video feed streaming back to my phone was smooth and crisp. When I looked at the pictures and videos from it I was very impressed. The image and video quality is great. It does 4k 30fps or 1080p 60fps. Both modes are extremely smooth because of the EIS. After the drone auto-landed because the first battery was low I put in the second battery and tested how long it flew. I put it into high speed mode and flew it all around. Almost non stop. It flew for exactly 23 minutes which was great! The battery life is a perfect amount of time to have a lot of fun with this drone. The app connection is great as well so you can easily view the camera from the drone in real time. The build quality of the drone is very sturdy and the blades are easy to take on and off. The case it comes with has 2 slots for the batteries as well as the controller and drone. You would be able to get a 3rd battery and leave it in the drone while in the case as well. Overall: It’s an excellent drone The Camera: Outstanding The Controller: Great The App: Nice The Build quality: Super The Battery life: Amazing I really recommend the Holy Stone HS700E to anyone! It’s perfect for your first drone if you are just getting into the drone hobby as you can use it in low speed or for a professional who wants to fly fast in high speed. I already have the Holy Stone HS720E 4K EIS (fold up drone) and wanted a rigid model to compliment it in my fleet. I have had great luck with the HS720E so I thought I would give the HS700E a try. Unboxing it, I was very happy to see the padded case with compartments for the drone and components. It has the same remote as my HS720E, so it was a quick set up. I rated this as good for a beginner, yet feel that this rating is applicable to older kids and adults that will take the time to follow the instructions. This thing is awesome to fly and the camera and stability is great (I like it better than my HS720E, and that one takes nice videos and pictures). Another aspect I really liked are the quick attach/detach blades. The blades and arms are clearly marked A & B along with the fact they can only press and twist into the correct arms. I recommend starting in the low speed before moving to high speed. Also, it was defaulted to a beginner mode (won't go very far out and up). Make sure you check the mode if you feel it is not responding to the remote, as the beginner settings will stop it from going very far. This thing has a lot of features found in much more expensive drones (follow me and orbit are a couple cool features). My only gripe would be the 5 hour charge time. Being this drone is at a decent price point, you can always pick up a couple more batteries on Amazon. I recommend doing that after you try the drone out for a while to make sure it is a keeper for you (as the batteries are model specific) Bottom line, this is a great drone and you will not be disappointed with the drone or the customer service from Holy Stone (I have had good luck with both). I have never been around drones before but I thought it might be a fun activity for me and the grandkids so when this HS700E came up on sale, I bought it. I read the book it came with and watched a couple videos while the battery was charging and was able get it in the air and had a successful flight on my first try. I have never used a drone so I have nothing to compare to, but the drone feels solid and well built as does the remote, it's easy to fly and the app for your phone is easy to navigate. So I am very happy with the drone, my only problem with this purchase is that I thought I was buying a HS700E on sale from Amazon Prime Early Access. What I was actually sent was a HS700E with only 1 battery. The HS700E has always been sold with 2 batteries. So now instead getting a great deal I am actually going to have to spend another 58$ on another battery, which puts the price of the drone OVER what it cost when it was not on sale (with 2 batteries). So it was not on sale at all, it was just cheaper because they took out a battery. So if you purchase a 700E try to find the packing arrangement that still has 2 batteries. Update...so after quite a few flights over the last year, it finally happened...I hit the unlock button on the remote, the drone took off by itself and flew off into the sunrise, never to be seen again...I have no idea what happened or why after many successful flights it just decided to take off. Bye bye drone...it was fun while it lasted.
