Innovative Marine DIY Self Leveling Mat (36" x 24")

My aquarium sits on a desk/table and I didn't want to use the adhesive straight onto it. So, I stuck it onto a piece of flannel-backed vinyl (like table-cloth type material), cut it to size and then put it onto the table. This way, I can even slide it around a little if I want and it doesn't ruin the table. The vinyl fabric I bought is the same color as my table, so it's not obvious. You could look for black vinyl to match the foam - maybe a Halloween table cloth. This is a nice dense quality foam. I would not just place it with the paper backing straight onto a piece of furniture, because the paper backing would deteriorate easily if it got wet and is a bit fragile and creased, so you'd end up with a mess. The way I did it worked great. I had no trouble removing the backing. I'm really happy with it. I bought a larger piece than I needed, to have some on hand for other projects. It's good stuff.

I put this under a 30 gal rimmed reef tank because my stand wasn't quite even and the tank would rock a bit. This stopped it from doing that and leveled everything out. Mine came in good condition, not old or strange like some others have said. Mine was black so it blends in with the frame. You don't even notice it under the tank.

The aquarium mat is quite good, nice & firm. I just received the wrong color, I was disappointed, wanted it in gray, not black, but it'll have to do.

product itself was great- stuck well, was the perfect size, and did a great job of leveling my 300 gal that last tiny bit. I feel much better about the tank's stability now. However, the one thing I was a little frustrated by was that I bout two- two of the largest mats are perfect for a 300 gal 8 ft tank- however, one was black, and one was gray. Not a HUGE issue, but was still a bit irritating for those of us who are super obsessive about symmetry (coughcoughmyhusband) I wish I could give it 4.75 stars , but other than that, it was super.

It might not be black but the mat works. Cutting the mat was the biggest issue I had. It takes some patience to set up too since you need to roll it out and weigh it down before you can attach / cut it to size properly. I didn’t have any trouble removing the adhesive layer. This is way better than cutting a yoga mat...

I have bought this item before for my.other tank decided to get the bigger size this time for more tanks in the future love this mat i havent found another one this big that has sticky stuff on it

I never used one of these before and this was easy and did exactly what I wanted.

It will probably work OK, but disappointing to see a large dent formed into the foam when I opened it. Especially when you are paying more than you should for a piece of foam in the first place.
