New design. I think it’s better
I’ve had a book book cover for various old iPads for years. It’s likely saved the various iPads in it countless times, from falls or thieves. It looks just like a boring old book.So when I recently got an iPad Pro, I knew I had to get a new case for it (new iPad dimensions are bigger than older ones.) I wavered on the price, but I figured, I just spent almost a thousand bucks on an iPad why scrimp on a cover that actually is a safety measure for it? And I’m satisfied, it looks very nice and I like the improved design. I know other reviewers have had some complaints, but I’ve experienced no problems so far. Seems like a good design.I like these cases because they are like camouflage: when your device is in the case/cover, it looks like an old boring book. Not an expensive device. I use the iPad to teach in sign language. And I teach in areas that can be pretty rough, and I know various eyes are always watching. So I don’t know how many times these book book cases have saved me, but I’m sure it’s many times…

My go-to cases, have been for years, and will continue to be.
I want to preface this with saying that I bought a used one that was supposed to be in “like new” condition to replace my old one that got ink-damaged on the outside, but received a heavy used one instead. I returned it, so am not basing this review on that one. That’s a seller issue (looking at you, Amazon Warehouse), not an issue with manufacturing. I bought another directly from TwelveSouth for the same price as the used one from Amazon. All of my laptops, iPads, and charging cables are in TwelveSouth’s BookBook cases (I don’t like the corner cutout on their iPhone BookBook case though, so got a leather book wallet case from Willowist on Etsy, as I’ve done for my last four iPhones). I love these cases, and how the leather wears so nicely. This particular size case I bought for my current gen iPad Pro, and I have Apple’s keyboard and the Apple Pencil 2 on it, and it fits in this case just fine. Their CS will say that the pencil can go in the pocket inside, but that creates a lump and I don’t like that. It definitely will close with the pencil and case on it though. the one thing I’d like to see on this one is the elastic side cables that the case for my largest MacBook Pro has, so that the case doesn’t flop open. I’d like to be able to open it, open my iPad keyboard case, and have the “book cover” stay up, but I bought this case knowing that that wasn’t a part of this case. Not docking any stars for what I knew going into this purchase.Obviously I recommend this case to book-nerds, and I put my money where my mouth is by this particular brand being my go-to repeatedly. In the past, I’ve tried other versions from other companies, but fake leather is still fake leather, and it doesn’t wear as nicely as the real stuff. So I’ll keep buying TwelveSouth’s cases. They’re definitely worth the price. Aside from one being subjected to an ink spill, I’ve yet to have a case wear to the point of needing to be replaced, but have had those fake leather/“PU leather” ones wear out within a year, and buying a second one results in spending more in the same time than just buying one of these that’ll last you for years.

A solid case
Very sturdy, the Apple pencil fits inside it. Protected well enclosed and does not look like an electronic item is in the case.

Pretty much exactly what I expected, Thank you Mr. Bezos for Amazon!
Nothing to dislike

I like it!
This was a tight fit for my 2015 15” MacBook Pro but it is nice because it doesn’t move around and doesn’t need internal straps. I cut a little piece of moleskin to cover the backs of the zippers so it won’t cause any scratching. I would recommend doing the same if you don’t already have protection along the edges of your laptop.
