Unless you enjoy rebuilding this thing from scratch, stay clear. Even with the excellent "Sextant handbook" it was not easy. I would not go to sea with this toy.

Purely a decorative item only. I certainly wouldn't consider trying to use this for navigation or even learning the basics of how a sextant operates.

This item is useable as a decoration. There is not possible to use it as a real sextant measure device. Too small, too unacurate.
