After ruining a couple of needles with my manual turntable I decided to finally buy an arm lifter. It has a plastic look and seems fragile, hence the price, but it works very well on Planar 3 turntable. Easy to install. Very happy with it.

Great little piece of kit. Quite brilliant actually. However, I nearly returned it because it sat too high for my turntable—a Pro-Ject Primary E. Luckily, I found some helpful DIY suggestions on the Pahmer website… long story short all I had to do was remove the little foam strip on the top of the tonearm lifter and I had all the clearance I needed. Works exactly as described now.

Easy to set up & after fine tuning the lift adjustments it works great & I believe will prove reliable. I have a Soulines TT which has an unusual dust cover. Due to the size of the lifter I have to put the cover on out of square which I didn't see coming but not the end of the world. Conventional dust covers will be fine. Very pleased.

I had seen reviews and YouTube videos of this and decided that it was a lot better than letting it run in the last groove if I fell asleep or went to make something to eat, it came well packaged and in good condition initially it seemed very plasticky (if thats a word) it comes with no clear instructions on what the 2 sliders are for one on the front and one on the back, after a bit of playing with them the front one alters the hight of the lifting bar and the back one the strength of the lift, the settings it came with practically launched the tonearm into the air and back down on the record (not something you want to happen) I ended up with the back slider just above midway on my project debut carbon evo. Once set up and after keeping an eye on it for a few records it works perfectly every time, nice slow lift no bounce I found one of my records that had a small run off area and set it to that. Its a bit fiddly but a guy on YouTube shows how to do it with a business card you need 3 hands cos before its fixed in place the arm knocks it out of place but once fitted its brilliant well recommended
