I also own several Polywood chairs and some other similar brands which we know are high quality, so as a comparison - overall I think that these appear to be a great value. Are they "as nice"? No. Are they good enough for front porch and firepit chairs? Absolutely. The Polywood chair in this style was twice the price... and Serwall offers a lifetime guarantee, so we rolled the dice. I bought two of the gray at first to see if they were good enough, which they seem to be, so I bought 8 more. First impression is that it actually looks and feels like wood, so much so that initially we thought we ordered the wrong chairs. They may be polystyrene instead of polyethylene, and if so could be more brittle, especially sitting in the Colorado sun. Time will tell. Ours arrived well packaged, in good condition, and with all the appropriate hardware. The directions are "ok" but it's not rocket science to put them together. The supplied tools will drive you crazy and increase your assembly time tenfold. Grab a ratchet with a deep 10mm socket and a bit-holder with the proper allen-head bit and it's easy-peasy. Just note that there are TWO (just slightly longer, like barely noticeable...) bolts that are used to hold the back of the arms to the backrest. The other SIX long bolts go with the nuts and washers. Mixed them up on the first chair. Really I only have three minor complaints, but again for $200 savings per chair I can totally live with it. First, the bolts that hold the cross-braces on the legs are not long enough and should be 5mm longer if they're to be used for both the front and back leg braces. The front chair legs are thicker than the back, and the bolts aren't long enough to reach the threaded part of the insert in the cross support. I countersunk the holes on the front legs 1/4" so they would reach and have solid engagement. Second, the quality control on the depth of the factory counter-sunk holes is poor, to the extent that the "wing braces" on the front leg assembly which supports the front of the armrest are barely attached. I counter-sunk those as well and reinstalled the screws to ensure they had good engagement. Third, the arm is a little wobbly because it only has two attachment points. This will promote premature wear as you use it heavily to sit in and get up from the chair. I will fix this by placing two counter-sunk screws in the top of the arm (where your hand sits), one into the newly-reinforced wing support, and one into the front leg assembly. If you don't make the fixes I did, probably the chairs will be just fine, but I prefer my stuff to be rock-solid when possible and I bought these in the hopes that I won't ever have to replace them down the road.

UPDATE: Great customer service!! Return window was closed, but I sent pictures of the broken chairs anyway. A few chats later, company shipped 2 NEW CHAIRS! No cost to me! Thank you! So far so good.Love the look of these chairs. I bought 4. One arrived damaged and was replaced. My chairs have been gently used and are only 15 months old. 2 of the four have fallen apart. So disappointed.

Amazon has a great customer service, but I have never come across customer service on a product as I did with this Company Serwall..Serwall’s customer service cannot be beat. When I wrote to them, they wrote back right away, and since my name plates were scratched up, they gave me a new nameplates . The thing that made my jaw drop open is they didn’t send it through regular mail, they sent it by FedEx (who does that these days?)When I had an issue with a screw, going into a specific hole, they surprised me again by just handling the situation in the customers favor again, (who does that to these days?)…. Serwall. Honestly I work for a company where customer service is our first priority, and I’m going to tell you that Serwall has some of the best customer service people working for them that I have ever come across. They are great but as everyone else said the packaging of Saran Wrap has ruined the chairs look

These chairs are very high quality and easy to assemble. There was no tape used inside the packaging, and therefore no tape residue like other reviews suggested. I assume the manufacturer resolved the problem.I recommend using a ratcheting wrench to assemble, instead of the small wrench supplied in the box.I purchased 6 of these for our fire pit.

Overall Happy with Purchase. I thought from the picture Blue is "navy blue" - its more on a slate blue tone to me.- instructions: As others have suggested make sure you separate out your bolts. 2 of them are different (slightly longer) life will be easier if you do.. thanks to someone else who mentioned on here ( I normally just do a quick review of instruction pictures and go... but this is KEY.- pretty simple really to put together, think it took me maybe 15-20 min per, unboxing etc...- also either use electric screw driver and a socket to make life easier ( do not screw anything tight until all assembled, it does help lining stuff up.**To MFG - it would be helpful, if you simply would put BOLTS in their OWN BAG each type "J BOLTS" / "M BOLTS" etc.. that way there is no confusion. Also one of my chairs the 6 bolts / they were completely threaded which can cause the bolt to dig in since it doesn't stop

This chair is actually better than I thought it would be. Very strong, nice quality and simple to put together. Instructions are a bit wonky. Just look at the picture on the box, when putting together. I bought two in green. Thinking about buying two more. FYI use a socket wrench and do not over tighten.

The Modern Andirondack chair is comfortable for all sizes of guests but is really great for me, the short one in the group. I chose the grey to blend with my other pieces and couldn't be more satisfied. A minor issue with the footrail was dealt with in a reasonable fashion by Serwall.

For some reason I thought this was a foldable chair but you have to built it yourself. The tools it comes with aren't the greatest, I ended up using some of my own tools because it would just spin around. Other than that, it's great. It's not plastic like it says, it's wood. Kind of heavy too. But the color is beautiful and it's solid. I am more than 300 pounds so this was a must for me. Only thing is that it didn't pass through the patio door, I had to remove the wing part that holds the arm, and then put it back once I was outside.Still I would recommend this chair. Love it.
