The metal filters work fine enough but the problem is
I guess I'm just a paper person. The metal filters work fine enough but the problem is ... clean up. I have read the pro's and con's of this product and most of the negative reviews were based on cleaning up after you make a cup of coffee. With the paper filters, you either throw it away with the grounds or peel the paper filter off the compressed coffee leaving little or no grounds and with a simple rinse, they can be used over again. Whereas after using all 3 different metal filters I found that each one had about a 1/16th to a 1/8th of grounds that had adhered to the metal filter resulting in a lot of extra cleaning of grounds to contend with. I even tried turning them around with the same results.I'm not saying the metal filters are a bad product, they just don't fit my lifestyle. I'm retired. I don't need any extra work in the morning to save in the cost of buying paper filters.Being a true believer in the phrase "caveat emptor" I will not be returning the product or ask anyone for my money back. I should have read more into other reviews that had the same outlook as I do.UPDATE! Here we are one year later and have found that NOW I'm a metal person! LOL I found my grounds were not small enough. If you want to make espresso you need espresso grind Duh? ... "coffee dust"! Super-fine grounds is what I needed and sure enough, the metal filter just separates with ease with hardly any grounds attached to it. Who would have thunk?

Better than paper
I wanted a mesh filter and, at nearly the same price as other lone mesh filters on amazon, I purchased this set of three so in case I didn't care for the mesh I could try the perforated types. So far I have only tried the mesh, but I am very happy with it. I love my aeropress with the paper filters but when I used the mesh more oils were able to seep through the filter that the paper would have soaked up. It made an even tastier cup, which I did not think was possible.(slight) CON: It also lets a minuscule amount of mud into the bottom of the cup. It only builds up after the coffee has sat a while, and it's a small amount. It's still nothing like a french press, where you have an actual mud pit at the bottom of the mug. It's ALMOST not even worth mentioning. But more mud than paper filters.RECOMMENDED? Yes. I never have to buy filters again and I'm not just using a sheet of paper one time and then throwing it out day after day. AND I prefer the taste. I also think this particular product is nice because I have 3 options to choose from. I was bound to like one of these filters if I hadn't liked the mesh.Edit: I tried the 'very fine' filter and the two times I used it, I couldnt tell a difference between the mesh and very fine. They both work well.

Would I buy this again? Yes, definitely.
I've used an Aeropress for years, and recently considered buying metal filters to replace my paper ones. So I considered two things in this purchase:1. Metal vs paper filter2. These metal filters vs other metal filtersFor #1, I'm a big fan of the metal filter (so far). Some people complain it's another item to clean, but the cleanup is really minimal. Just rinse it under the faucet with a drop of soap. The coffee is a bit fuller. You get some coffee "sludge" at the bottom of your cup (similar to a french press) but no large grounds have gotten through. For #2, these seem to be very high quality. I couldn't decide between the "perforated" style and "mesh" style filter, and with this 3 pack I didn't have to decide. I've seen complaints for both styles of filter (from other brands) that coffee grounds can get stuck in the perforated holes or under the rim of the mesh filter. But so far I haven't had any issue. The filters are quite thin and feel like they could bend easily if not handled carefully. I will update if that becomes an issue.Would I buy this again? Yes, definitely.

mesh filter started coming apart immediately; newer seller has now replaced items
I bought the 3-piece filter set. Tried them all initially. The mesh one started coming apart at the solder points immediately, within the first couple uses. There are 12 solder points on the mesh filter. Initially 2-3 broke apart. But I soon decided I liked the Ultra-fine filter the best and was only going to be using that one.Unfortunately, the Ultra-fine went missing in the kitchen one day and hasn't been seen since. So I started using the mesh one again. In a short time, the solder points continued to break apart. Now 8 of the 12 points are broken, so the filter is being held together by only the remaining 4.I decided to contact the seller, E3 Studios, via correct Amazon procedure. They have failed to respond to multiple efforts, so now I am posting a review to let others know of my experience (in terms of both the product and the seller).***************************update, 3/5/20:I tried to update my review and rating last week, but it does not appear to have gone through. Not sure why that would be.After not hearing back from E3 Studios (the old Seller), I posted a review and tried contacting the new Seller, NolkCo. They did respond quickly and were very nice. Sent me a replacement kit for all three filters, not just the mesh one. So 5 stars for customer service from Nolk.Hopefully the replacement will last longer; of course that remains to be seen. Since my first effort at updating did not get posted, now I have about a week's use with the replacement. So far, it is holding up well (unlike the original, which had already started breaking apart at this point).updating my rating from 1 star to 3 stars to reflect NolkCo's great customer service. (still unclear why my earlier efforts to contact E3 Studios went unanswered — and whether or not Corretto, E3, and Nolk are all the same people/company.)If the replacement mesh filter continues to hold up, I will again update my rating to reflect that.***************************update, 5/12/20:after another 2+ months of use, the replacement mesh filter has continued to hold up. So far not showing any signs of coming apart like the old one did.changing rating from 3 stars to 4 stars.

Turned coffee making on its head for me
When I bought this I'd been using an Aeropress for around a year. I loved the coffee it made, but having to keep buying paper filters was getting old. With these metal filters, I have gone through the whole of the past year, working from home, making coffee several times a day, and not had to pay an extra cent. And it introduced me to a whole new way of using the Aeropress that creates such good coffee, I don't miss going to the café near my deserted office. The big epiphany for me was to use the 'inverted' method - start with the plunger in the main body of the aeropress, load in the coffee so it sits on top of the plunger, pour in the water, stir, then screw on the cap and the metal filter together. When ready to press, just flip it over on top of the cup and push. It works great and because the liquid doesn't start draining before you've finished pouring you get a more consistent load and extraction.A year on, I'm still really happy with the fine screen. The mesh I found less effective over time but with this pack, you get to experiment and choose your favourite.

Real Stainless steel
Much more green to use steel filters, taste also much better. I use two tree times in a day after 3 month It seems stay forever no rust or any other.I use only fine filter I think, until now for standard coffee.I will definitely suggest these filters for Aeropress.

Improves the flavour of an espresso like brew
These filters allow more of the coffee oils to pass through than the paper filters, giving it more of a full bodied, smooth espresso flavour. In my hands the paper filters give more of a 'pour-over' flavour - while these metal filters mimic espresso. I'm very please with the result. For the fine grind I use (and grind is all important) and also Aldi's 'Italian espresso' ground coffee works well. In my hands the mesh gives the best flavour ie most oil and a semi creme effect. I've not experience any residual solids passing through - maybe a tinyesest amout that is quite drinkable. I suspect I'm getting an even grind with little dust from a sage grinder and also pre-ground from Aldi. Its the closes to a shop bought espresso in the home. For a strong espressso is use 18 to 22g of fine ground coffee, add 50g of, off-the -boil water, and stir for 30 seconds then top up to between 65 and 90g of water in total, depending on strength I'm after. Very important to wipe any remains off the top of the aeropress ( or it will leak) place the mesh onto the press, then the grill plate and twist into place. Place a warm cup on top and then invert at 1.5 minutes and press hard to get as much pressure on the cake. Sometimes some coffee comes out the gap between mesh and grill but mostly it flows well. Set to one side by the sink to cool. After drinking the coffee, clean-up, lift the cool mesh of the coffee bed, wash under the tap, and then squeeze the coffee into the bin in the normal way. I've been very pleased with the results.I'm sure the mixed results reported earlier are due to peculiarities with grinding and getting irregular grounds. This method works best with the inverted method, the normal (aeropress instructions) method allows too much water to flow through the filter before its brewed. I found grounds stuck in the holes of the fine and ultra-fine filter and there seemed to be less oil flowing through with these filters, in my hands the mesh made the fullest cup of coffee. Best I've had at home from any espresso machine I've tried.
