Great bang for your buck
My work gym has all of the basics except the dumbbells only go up to 50lb. I've been trying for months to get the powers that be to get bigger weights but it just wasn't in the budget. A set of dumbbells from 55-100lb runs around $2,000 and frankly I'm the only one who works here that is up for bigger weight.I searched Amazon and this set is suspiciously cheaper than any other I could find. I paid $250 for this set of 100lb weights, just over $1/lb. Most sets this size were in the $400 range. There are some basic issues that I believe you'll find with any set involving multiple plates. The caps don't stay tight, you'll have to tighten them between sets, just a quick turn so the plates don't rattle.A big issue is that if you have the bar less than full then the ends are a thin metal bar. If you're trying to do 80lb shoulder presses and want to start with them rested on your knees you have to try to balance them weird to not have 80lb pushing a little bar into your leg. Again, you'll have this issue with any set this style. I saw a review where someone made aftermarket caps to solve this issue. I bought a 2nd set of screw caps with the intent on epoxing them to thick plywood circles to see if this will work, haven't gotten around to it yet.The grips are thinner than im used to making it a little more of a challenge to hold on to for 100lb rows. Can also get aftermarket grips for this.Overall 5 stars for value for the buck, can't beat it!

Hard to lift dumbbells without handles!
Overall review: missing parts, , but looks like the problem was fixed via a quick Amazon chat. See below for best way to handle problems.Rationale for 3-star rating: 2 for the product (b/c of missing part) but 4 for the service, so 3 so far.Problem: All the weight plates came, but no dumbbell handles.Confirming the handles should have been in the order:I confirmed that the Amazon add mentioned handles. Also, there were four dumbbell plate locking nuts in the package, so there would be no reason for those unless they had intended to send handles. There were three options for fixing the problem: The BalanceFrom telephone number, the BalanceFrom site, and Amazon chat. The telephone number said they could not accept calls and disconnected me. The BalanceFrom site was okay, but said it might be several days before anyone replied. The Amazon chat started with a bot which didn't work out because the bot never understood that I was missing a piece of the order. When I tried again, I (think) I got a real person who handled the matter quickly and with nothing more for me to do, so that was a relief. I should get what is needed in 9-13 days, so we shall see!So I recommend the Amazon chat if you have a problem. If the matter gets resolved, I think I can update my rating.UPDATE: The replacement arrived with several large holes in the box that were big enough for the handles or locking nuts to fall out, but fortunately, they had not and all was intact. So the matter was resolved by Amazon, although my separate inquiry with the company created a series of inconclusive and repetitive exchanges , requests for information, etc. Overall, this is settled and my experience further confirms the wisdom of buying through Amazon and getting problems settled through Amazon, rather than directly via vendors on Amazon. I updated my rating to 4, as the plates seem nicer than the average cement/plastic plates. BTW, the handles are plastic but I own metal and plastic dumbbell handles at home and I actually prefer the plastic because the knurling is more comfortable, it is easier to repair the screw threads should they get knicked, they don't scratch your skin as much should they hit your leg while curling (home dumbbell kits have long handles compared to gym dumbbells, and b/c they are lighter to travel with, should I want to bring handles and resistance bands with me.

200 lb set review
Quality: Excellent quality. Handles and collars are solid steel, plates had a few nicks but nothing major. I loaded up one handle up with 105lbs to do one armed bent over rows and it handled it like a champ, very sturdy.Shipping: It took 18 days to receive set and I only live 30 miles away from where they are shipped (Ontario CA). So expect to receive them at the later end of the shipping date range. Received all parts though one box was banged up, and one collar fell out and was placed on top of the box by the delivery guy. Had it been shipped across the country i might not have been so fortunate.Description: The item description for the 200lb set lists (12) ten pound plates. I received (16) ten pound plates. The 5 and 2.5 pound plates were listed correctly.During my first use i was surprised with how small a 1 inch diameter handle is, much smaller than what were use to in the gym. Not uncomfortable just different. They sell rubber hand grips for 1 inch diameter dumbell handles, i'll buy a set of those to get a thicker grip. One major problem i came across is when doing incline press and shoulder press, you're not able to rest the dumbells on your knees and kick up to help lift the weight. The 1 inch rod sticking out prevents that. With 80-90 pounds on the handle it would probably break skin of your leg and then some. I looked for some kind of end plate to screw on the bottom of the handle but couldn't find anything like that on line so im going to order another set of collars and screw them until they are flush with the begining of the handle. hopefully my knee can take that pressure. I need my legs to assist when lifting 70 plus pounds over my head, so i'll have to figure out a way to balance them on my knee. I'll update the review once i get the collars and tell you how that goes.Overall I'm very happy with this purchase and recommend this set. I paid $240 for the set, where the other 200lb sets were going for $400. This is a great buy.

Decent for the price
I got mine for $30 so they were worth it, but out of the box, they were already chipped, and they aren't very sturdy, so if you can get a deal on them. Then I would recommend them

Leaking sand
These are sand filled dumbells and mine came with a slow leak. Unfortunately I didn't notice before the return window closed. Now I'm stuck with the crappy items. The plugs are crappy and can easily come loose releasing disgusting sand all over your floor.Go for steel dumbbells to be safe. Even though there may be better sand filled ones, these ones are no good.

sand leaking out of one weight
all the pieces came unbroken, the plastic handle and screws are good. unfortunately the caps to keep the sand in the weights are too easy to remove. one of the weights had a loose cap, sand was all over the box and leaked whenever you would pick it up.this seems more like a design flaw. the caps should be glued or melted over to prevent any possibility of leakage. ended up returning and getting cast iron dumbbells instead

The weights are good but
Two of the the dumbell locks were broken..they will need to be replaced. Otherwise the weights are good
