KastKing Valiant Eagle Spinning Reels, Black Gold Fishing Reel, Size 2000

Nice smooth fishing reel! (1000) Drag pulls very smoothly and used for bay fishing bass. Light in weight, small, and looks durable. Outstanding quality reel for the price.

This reel is so well made. It’s one of the best at this price I’ve ever used. I match it with a Kastking rod and the feel was so balanced and light. Easy to set drag and the bailer moved flawless. I’ll be buying another to replace an older unit.

I previously purchased a Kastking Sharky III in the 3000 size and really like it, so decided to get another Kastking reel for my new rod. I did a lot of reading, checked reviews, compared reels, and decided to go with the Valiant Eagle Gold. I actually got 2 of them, one 2000 and one 3000. I haven't taken them fishing yet, but impressions are a bit disappointing.The Sharky III is an incredible reel and is absolutely smooth, with a light twist of the handle it just spins and spins with no resistance. Both of the Valiant Eagles have a bit of resistance and slight grinding. They are still smooth, but do not compare to the Sharky III. I plan on taking them apart and giving them a good lube in hopes that they can be improved upon. If not, I will likely return these and get a couple more Sharky III reels, or maybe a Speed Demon.

Kind of disappointed with this reel. I love my Kastking Brutus, so I thought I’d give this one a shot. (This review is specifically for the Valiant Eagle Gold Edition.) Unfortunately, despite the higher price, it’s not nearly as smooth as the Brutus.When it arrived, I noticed that the bail, and the handle seemed to have been greased way more than normal. Hard to say if I received a return or if that was just part of the manufacturing process, but I wondered why it might need that excess of grease. (The Amazon seller I got this from was NOT Madbite, which is related to Kastking. Not sure if that’s significant or not, but I thought it might be worth mentioning here, in case that introduces any quality control issues that are out of the Kastking brand’s control.)It’s a nice-looking reel, and seems like it it would be sturdy. Maybe with an internal adjustment, it might be really good, but for a reel that’s supposed to be brand new, I didn’t think that should acceptable, so I returned it.Most of the reviews for this reel seem to be for other models of the Valiant Eagle. Maybe those are better.

Just got my new Valiant Gold Eagle 2000 real from KastKing. My buddy was constantly buying Kast King Products and I was a little against them as they were not brand name. I am more of a Penn kind of guy. I needed a new reel for my light line surf fishing pole and didn't want to spend a grip of cash. After checking out all of Kastking's spinning reels and features I was amazed at the features they were offering.Opened the box which is always great to get an original box with instructions, stickers, free braided line coupon, and a cloth storage bag. Took the reel out and I was amazed at the quality of everything. It has a great feel and the materials were not cheap. The bail arm is solid and burly and the whole thing spins smooth as glass. Cant wait to take it out this weekend.
