I used these in 3" white on 1/8oz chartreuse jig head and caught a good sized small mouth and a big holdover trout on a 4'6" ultralight from a medium sized urban creek. I've used inline spinners to mimic bait fish, but they are expensive, only really do one thing and are really only effective with treble hooks which is a catch and release nightmare. The action of the tail on these grubs creates plenty of disturbance in the water, even in high, dirty after storm conditions, which is when I use them the most and is just as effective as the spinner without having to kill fish. You also have more techniques at your disposal with grubs, where a spinner is really only good at being ripped through the water. I like these so much, I bought a 6' medium rod that's always strung up with a grub. I've always been skeptical of these baits, but after working one I'm pretty confident they'll produce in a wide variety of locations and conditions. Drop shotting them is my next experiment. Edit: Drop shotting works awesome on these as I was able to hook up big bass and trout in a high pressure, high temp urban stream. I used them on a 1/0 weedless hook and I think the hook is what killed me, because while I hooked two fish that had probably seen every single lure from every Walmart and Dicks in a 40 mile radius I couldn't land them. It was just an experiment and it works, but I haven't perfected the technique. If I do, I will update the post. I'm using Crappie Magnet double cross jigs. Great lure. Give this to kids and anyone who really doesn't give a good hollar about fishing because it's basic cast and crank, doesn't hang up like a treble hook, catches a multispecies of fish consistently and while I'm sure someone could debate me out of the point, the fish mostly hooks itself. Fishes just like a streamer if you fly fish. I'm not convinced that color matters but....White.

These have always done well for me catching fish. The color matches the photos and the fish love the smell. Can use in many different water types and are built to last a few strikes. Easy to hook up and can use in a lot of different ways, very versatile.
