Vogue(r) Knitting the Learn-To-Knit Book: The Ultimate Guide for Beginners

I purchased this as a gift for someone learning to knit

Instructive for someone who had never knitted. The illustrations are really helpful in guiding you toward what works for you.

I bought this book because the one I already had about knitting, though complete, lacked that guidance and clarity I was looking for. Looking at the table of contents from the sample, I thought this was the perfect little extra to set me on the right path. I wasn't expecting it to cover everything knitting has to offer. But to cover the very basics a beginner needs to know, and do it well. Extremely disappointed.It spends a lot of pages on yarn and material (not to mention the 25 projects) but not even a third of a page on how to hold needles (and no image). Instructions are unclear, the "knit-wise" bind-off section... well, I hope I am one bad learner, because seems like instructions are missing for the very last stitch... etc. And the rest of the book... not any better.And let's add that weird idea of having a background the same color of the yarn used for illustration...

A well put together teacher of all knitting needs. Nice book!
