TYR Men's Durafast Elite Solid Jammer Swim Suit

These are super durable and sleek trunks, but I've gotta say, the fit is a bit weird. The best way to describe the cut is that it would work great for a two-dimensional person. The width is fine, but there seems to be almost no front-to-back sculpting in the cut of the fabric, the result being that there isn't room in either the bum or the crotch. The trunks do give a bit over time, so that the fit is now okay after a couple of months of regular use, but the first few trips to the pool were-- ouch! I say all this from the perspective of a guy who has a famously small rear. I can't imagine how a guy with sizable glutes would fit in these.

I normally swim 15,000 yards a week. Finding suits that can stand up to the usage and chlorine exposure can be a challege. I normally use TYR Durafast or Speedo Endurance suits which last nearly a year . The first difference I noticed was the full double lining. The fit is a little more compression. So far I really like this suit. I now prefer the durafast elite over the other suits based on the fit and preceived durability. If it lasts as long as the standard Durafast or the Endurance, I'll be satisfied. At this point I intend on purchasing more.

For years, I've swum laps in jammers made by a variety of manufacturers that followed a similar design: a single stretchy layer of fabric with a liner to provide great privacy for one's privates. They all lasted for about the same amount of time and wore the same way: after a few months of regular use (despite always being thoroughly rinsed with fresh water after being used), the chlorine caused the fabric to get thinner and thinner until the suit became baggy and semi-transparent. These suits by TYR are different: the double layer feels robust and solid, my privates are better secured and less obvious, and the compression fit feels better in the water. They seem to be wearing far better. I'm a fan.

Update: The suit isn't exactly thicker, it just has two layers, and two layers to wear out and get baggy. Granted they are over a year old, and I swim 2-3 times a week, but not consistently during that one year period. I am now thinking it is time to replace them as the material is a little baggy here and there. No holes or worn spots, but the material definitely "loosens" up, not feeling as comfortable and compressing as they used to. They do last longer than a single layer suit, so that is helpful.I have other jammers from TYR, and I listened to the reviews which stated to order up a size from normal. In the case of this specific suit, that may not be necessary. The real reason for ordering up a size is that the leg holes are very tight. This suit was borderline for me in that regard, so I feel like you could go either way unless you have very thick quads. That being said, this is definitely me new go to swim suit. The thicker material is very comfortable, and I imagine just that more supportive if you size appropriately. I forgot it the other day and had to wear my older TYR jammer; it is so thin that I felt naked while swimming. It will be great if this material holds up to the chlorine as advertised. I will definitely order a backup soon.

I wear a 34 waist in jeans (6'0" tall 178 pounds) and got the 34 waist in the jammers. The waist is fine, the overall jammers are fine too, however, the elastic at the bottom of the legs seems tight to me.I used them for one 45 minute swim workout so far. The elastic in the legs was somewhat to very noticeable during the workout. I am an avid cyclist and have strong leg muscles which could be why the elastic seems so tight...when these wear out I think I might go up a size.Quality is excellent though. Other than the elastic on the bottom of the legs, the fit is fine.

I swim 2x/week for about 70minutes & 3400meters total in a chlorinated pool. These jammers have held their integrity so far. I definitely follow the care directions by just rinsing in cool water. I love the double layer; it gives it a stronger and more durable feel. The drawstring isn't a cheap little shoelace. It's a nice wide & flat string that's smooth against my skin. Like other reviews have said, this tend to run 1 size small. I typically wear a 32 pants, and the jammers I have are a 34. I will definitely buy these again for my next pair. I had a speedo pair before and these are much better and about the same price.

I thought they were a flat Matte black and blue, I bought 2 .High gloss or sheen finish not what I wanted. I guess I should have looked at the material Polyester Spandex and known.The blue shorts came mid way of my knees an odd feel. I folded them over 1-2 inches and they stay because of the spandex, only issue is the inside of the navy blue shorts is Black, not a bad look though. I wouldnt wear these as swimming trunks ,I am too old for spandex ,but I do wear them under lined swim trunks ,which are always too lose ,exposing privates. They are OK for swimming though. I used for biking 8 miles no problems. I put them in a washing machine and air dried. They are OK

I purchased these for my husband and he is very pleased with them. I was concerned about fit as he needed a 38 and reviews have stated they run small but there was not a larger option. They are snug but that has turned out to be a positive since it prevents slippage as he swims. His last pair was a brand name at more than double the cost which ended up losing it's elasticity quickly. The fabric on these is thicker and so far seems more durable than his high dollar pair. We will definitely buy again.

The most important with TYR jammer to me: double liner, which means comfortable and durable. As usual, took one size smaller than my pants and if fits perfectly.Le plus important pour moi avec des jammers: une doublure, qui rend le jammer confortable et durable. Comme d'habitude, j'ai prix un point plus petit que mes pantalons et c'est parfait.

I followed the advice here and ordered one size up. I'm so glad I did as the fit is perfect and quite comfortable. The fabric is good quality, double lined, so your "package" print doesn't show when you come out of the water. It may not be suitable for well endowed men as it can get tight at the front. Quality wise, there is a slight construction issue at the waist seam at the front... but it is not obvious from a far. Just unlucky I guess. I have worn it 4 times now and it still looks new. I would buy another one of these when the one I have is worn out.

When I wear this, I swim stupendously. Suckers in speedos struggle to keep up.

I fit size-32 pants and these fit snug like a jammer should. Not too tight on legs, even if you muscular legs like me. 4 stars because the double lining. They feel a bit thick compared to my last pair, but maybe this is something I just need to get used to. It also takes a while for them to dry. Otherwise, they seem quite durable and look sharp.

Elegante, no se deslava, el corte queda muy bien, no es a la cintura, es justo donde comienza la cadera. Muy duradero y sencillo.
