Mens Oil Cloth Oilskin Western Australian Waterproof Duster Coat Jacket

I got this about a week ago. The size was as expected...I got a large expecting to wear a sweater or down vest under it in the dead of winter. Its warm enough at 40 degrees but would need another layer for colder temps. Last night it was pouring rain and the jacket excelled. Very happy so far.

Bought a size smaller as indicated in the description, it was still like rolling around in a king sized sheet. The jacket reeked like gasoline and hydrocarbons so terribly I had to return it, and had to pay $25 for return shipping on a product I couldn’t use! It was nothing like any of the past oil coats I’ve had that had a minor scent of oil, this was like taking a waft out of a diesel can; it left an oily residue on my skin and clothes when I tried it on.

It seems comfortable and functional enough, but I haven't had it long enough to be as familiar with it as I want it to be. The oil smell might fade with age. The material is not as thick as I would like it to be. I guess I would have bought a leather duster coat if I had the money. I have gained weight since the pandemic, so I am unsure of my size, so I guessed. It is a little type over some garments I wore for extra warmth.

I purchased two of these coats because I liked them so much! There were some initial issues with sizing and shipment but the matter was addressed promptly upon communicating with customer service. They were polite, gracious and quite helpful. Needless to say, I'm happy with outcome and will continue ordering from them in the future.Note: when they say the sizes run large, pay close attention. Going down a size at least is definitely suggested. And the coats are great lookingSincerely,John Burge

This is a great, rugged-looking, long coat with button-up collar, lined but not heavily, and even has 2 deep inside pockets. It's oily but just like any Barbour coat. It has an almost "noir" look to it, especially if worn with your favorite fedora. Two little things would make this 5 star...the cape could be detachable, and it'd be nice if you could shorten the length with buttons, like for city use. The sleeves ARE long and I too would suggest buying a size bigger than your usual size.

Great duster jacket. Nice dark brown color with warm flannel lining. The fit is the issue, I wear a men's 3XL-4 XL depending on manufacturer typically so I ordered a 4XL so I had plenty of room in it. When I got it I couldn't get it around me and had about 3-4 inches of space between snaps on each side. Order 2 sizes larger! Otherwise looks great!

This coat came today. I ordered Large - I am 5'11" and it fits just fine. I saw a suede duster in a store that was twice the price than ordered the oiled cotton one here because it seemed so practical - and very cool (funky cool.) I don't ride but it is so very practical for a cold rainy day. It is also quite long which keeps the chill out. It is the kind of coat that will turn heads. I do not live on a ranch but in the cold northeast this is a really stylish practical way to dress for the day.

Less expensive good! Up to size 6X good! I am a 3X Tall but bought 6X and it is a little tight across my shoulders Not good! Smells like burned candles and oil Not good! Color is not Light as depicted as it is extremely dark Not good! Since I used Kentucky windage with size and bought bigger than needed, smell will dissipate with time and color will lighten as oil evaporates and this is a life purchase, and price was good, I am ok. But if you are a big man like me the sizes seem to run smaller than stated.
