This does work as advertised
You need to lubricate this seal and the rim with something like canola oil or vegetable oil and heat up the pressure cooker with some water a few times. The rubber will adjust to your lid even if it drips in the beginning. Do this a few times and the sealant should be fine after a few cools with the new gasket.
