Bound By The Past: 7 (Born in Blood Mafia Chronicles) Paperback – Import, 19 May 2020

This was a highly anticipated book.It was postponed a lot waited for so long and finally when I got hands on the book I can say I couldn't have asked for anything better.The evolution of Dante and Val's relation was something I liked . It wasn't only the equation between them but there dynamics with the extended family which is a great attribute to the story line.When we first met Dante in Bound by duty , I never liked him, His lack of expression and love made me hate him to an extent, but now after getting to know the better of him I can say I love this character .I respected Dante because of his nature towards Aria and Serafina but getting in to his mind was a sweet torture. I loved every word in this book.It wasn't enough though i need more and more. Nevertheless after Twisted bonds this is the book I like the most in Cora's collectionI congratulate Cora for delivering extra ordinary story yet again!!

I really loved how Dante & Val's relationship progressed in this book. In Bound by Duty, Dante didn't openly tell Val that he loved her but in this book, I was really glad to see his loving and protective side towards Val and his family.The book was based on the 5 betrayals made by Dante to the Outfit but they weren't repulsive.He did that for his family and that made his "Cold Fish" image to crash down for me. He was capable of expressing and experiencing his emotions. I admit that Dante wasn't perfect but he was far more likeable than compared to any other made men in the Outfit. At the end of the day, he did anything he could to protect his children and their legacy.No matter how much the other side characters opposed Dante, he would always be my favorite. Yes, he was prideful, arrogant and selfish but also he wasn't as bad as the Cammora or the Famiglia.The whole Remo & Serafina ordeal was sick and twisted. After reading both Dante & Val' point of views, I couldn't really understand Serafina and Remo is beyond justifiable. I have a feeling that I would not like their book at all (Twisted Pride). Also, don't get me started on the Danilo & Sofia situation. In all of Cora Reilly's mafia books, the men treat the women as if they are mere means to settle or establish a relationship with some other higher ranking families. I don't know what's with these people always arranging marriages for their daughters right from when they are underage. It's like they have nothing better to do than force their daughters to marry someone older than them and that annoyed me a lot.Overall, the book was good but there was too much drama happening. All I wanted to see was Dante & Val getting their happily ever after.

It was worth the wait...got to know so much about goes inside Dante's mind...in bound by duty I was really disappointed with Dante's behaviour towards Val but I loved him in BBTP...

I love Cora Reilly's mafia world.. This book is a part of that world..and even though i like Luca and Remo better than Dante.. I still loved this book... It gives a lot of insight into why Dante is the way he is.. Valentina is as usual awesome... Love all the other characters.. Love the kids.. Waiting for their books.. Cora fans are not going to miss this book.. All Dante fans are going to go crazy over this one.

I love Dante and Valentine's story. It's all about their love for each other and family. I really loved it❤

I like all the books in this series. Love all the mob stories. Waiting for the sins of the fathers eagerly though.

She good the undefeatable mafia queen...Can not wait for danilo and Sophia as well as samuel and Emma's love story.

AND DANTE CAVALLARO IS THE MOST COMPLEX CHARACTER CORA REILLY HAS EVER WRITTEN AND I STAND BY THAT. HE IS THE BEST. OMG AND VALENTINA IS MY WOMAN🫂 HER LOYALTY>>>>>>>>>>This book had all the Cavallaro family moments i NEEDED. Can't wait for second gen 😭

I am so happy that I got to read Dante's POV. This book was much needed after reading the start of their arranged marriage in Bound By Duty.Did he had a lot to make up for? Yes, yes he did. But ultimately he did what he thought was right and honorable. I like Dante even more now.And Valentina, I ended more in love with her than I already was.They have a beautiful family together.

Justo releí antes el libro 2 y me encantó hacer esa conexión.Confieso que Dante era el Capo que me causaba menos emociones, pero este libro cambió por completo mi noción. Es el capo que protege de forma incondicional, que ve en su esposa una compañera y un equipo, que tiene ideas actuales en un grupo antiguo.Val es una mujer que crece al lado de Dante. Ambos se vuelven más sabios, mejor pareja y mejor equipo. Su dinámica familiar es muy cariñosa y me encantan los dilemas morales que la vida que llevan les representa.Me encantará saber la historia de Ana, pero también la de Leonas. ¡Me urgen!ENG ::I absolutely loved this book. It was the first time I read it (and I decided to do so after rereading the book 2 of the series, which was a great thing to do!)Dante was the Capo that stirred less emotions in me, but not after this book. It was amazing to get to know the man under the controlled face and actions. He’s fiercely protective of the ones he loves and he always let that love dictate his actions in the end. He has contemporary ideas in a world full of ancient rules and that’s interesting.Val is his team. They are partners and lovers. She’s smart and he admires that and values it. They make each other better and that is my favorite part, their love, trust and dynamic. Also, the way they love their kids and how they educate them. Whenever they get torn between their world and their morals. It’s just stunning, interesting and original.Now, I really want to know what will happen with Anna but also, Leonas! Need their books ASAP!

His name strikes fear into others. Just the mention of his name makes people shake. His cold demeanor in any situation is talked about throughout the nation. He has a reputation he has worked on since a young boy. However, this Capo has a weakness many aren’t aware of. That weakness? Almost every women in his family. As Capo one has many responsibilities but also many advantages. Betrayal is the worst thing anyone in the mafia can do. Punishable by death at the hands of the enforcers and put out by the Capo himself. But what do you do when the Capo is the one who does the betraying? The Outfits leader has many secrets. Secrets that would have all his men questioning his loyalty. But they find out. This Ice Man May have a heart but only a select few ever get a chance to experience it. The rest? Well they die.This book was everything I never knew I wanted or needed. THE MAFIA LIVES ON!!! My mafia obsession is out of control and I blame Cora. I love how this book was put together. This is the first book I actually got to see a lot of interaction between a man of danger/power have with his children in a good way. We got to see this cold man actually have a soft side. The struggle he had between saving his family and saving the Outfit truly gutted me. How does one choose? I don’t know how he didn’t end up in a straight jacket. The decisions and all the people he had relying on him would’ve put me on pills right away. I love how we got to see the other side of Remo and Serafinas story. The backlash that Dante got from that scene literally made me scared. How these three families are going to be able to survive with each other is a mystery. With each book in the series I fall more in love with them. I can’t pick sides. At first I was all for the Famiglia. Then my loyalties switched to the Outfit. It ended with the Camorra and it has lasted there for a while but now I’m more like can’t we all just be friends. As much as I love the mafia this is why I can never be in it. Except for the fact that Im missing a few other qualities, I am way too indecisive. either way this book was amazing. We get a better window into what’s to come and we get more Dante & Val. That should be reason enough to get it and read it. Plus those two children of theirs had me dying. If you’re looking for story full of edge of your seat moments, tears of laughter and sadness then get this book. This is one of the best mafia stories I have ever read and I’m so glad I found it.

O retorno de Dante, o Capo da Chicago Outfit ocorre em sua melhor forma. Muito do que acontece em livros anteriores se faz possível entender quando entramos na mente de Dante. Por que ele se apegava tanto ao seu Consigliere se o desprezava? Definitivamente não era por respeito ao seu pai, quem ele detestava. O que o levou a tomar a decisão do Final de Twisted Pride? O “cold fish”é realmente um homem frio? E essa última pergunta posso responder sem spoilers e é não. Dante se mostra um homem bastante amoroso com sua família, muito mais do que eu esperava. Por mais que ele seja um personagem que eu não gostasse muito, ele se mostra bem mais do que em seu primeiro livro e é possível entender suas escolhas melhor, mesmo que eu continue discordando de muitas delas. Esse é um livro de respostas, que explica várias lacunas dos romances anteriores além de pontos que os leitores nem imaginavam, ao mesmo tempo que acrescenta bastante ao romance de Dante e Valentina, um casal que cresceu ao longo da sua história e nos dá dicas sobre o futuro de outros casais que atiçam mais a ansiedade para que seus livros sejam logo lançados. Cora escreveu uma história completa e complexa que conclui bem a série (supondo que esse seja o último livro) , tornando o enredo mais complicado e muito bem construído. Bound by the past foca em acontecimentos passados da vida de Dante, que servem pra explicar quem ele é e também em situações presentes-vistas em outros livros da série pela perspectiva de personagens distintos- e futuras, além de deixar um possível, curioso e agradável gancho pra série Sin of the fathers.No que ela se propôs a fazer com esse livro, ela fez e fez mais, ultrapassando minhas expectativas.
