Amazing indeed! One of the very best mold materials for the home crafter!
Really excellent product for capturing fine details! Please be advised that this is not appropriate for hard clays like sculpey etc. as the super flexibility may cause distortion if you are attempting to pack a hard material into it. That said it works wonderfully with liquid clays as you can bake right in the mold. If using a soft air dry clay please remember that you need to add extra days drying time as the only evaporative surfaces are the ones that are still exposed to the air directly. Improper measuring of the materials will give you a sticky result so it really does help to invest in a little digital scale that does fractional grams. Wear gloves and only mix in containers you consider disposable and please allow good ventilation when mixing as it has quite an odor until fully cured. To avoid air bubbles in your finished mold it really helps to have a little vibration from the bottom before you pour as well as after the piece has been poured piercing the bubbles that come to the surface with a pin. Be advised since this is not a platinum cured silicone is is not meants for contact with skin. Happy sculpting!

RTV Works as advertised
RTV Rubber works as expected. Picks up fine detail. Very durable. Definitely sticks to itself - I needed to cut a a part of the bottom of a mold off and glue it to the top to make it easier to use - parting line didn't work as anticipated. Cut off what I wanted and used this to attach to top. Watch out though since this can work against you if you are making a 2 part mold. be sure to use rubber release component. otherwise it will stick together, burying your master in the rubber. I had to start over for one 2 part mold. FYI, PB blaster does NOT work! - guess how I know :)Micomarks sell something but I think it has a shelf life as I put on 3 coats as recommended and still had problems - thats why I tried PB Blaster. next time will use vasoline or maybe even some acrylic paint. it should work.none of the issues are with the RTV, more with the mold maker!

Made two orders, one was a bust.
I made my first order for this product from the Crafter's Companion seller, and then made another order about a month later when I realized I would need more for my project. I used the second item I received first and it worked well. The hardening agent had a pink tint which mixed well with the base component. However, when I used ~half of the item I received from Crafter's Companion, I saw that the hardening agent in that package was clear without any pink tint. I attempted to use it anyway and found the mixture turned gummy immediately and quickly turned into an unusable mess well before the listed working time was over. I tried using the remainder and worked quickly to pour the mix before 5 minutes had passed, but the mixture was unusable.Overall not pleased with this product. I have contact Crafter's Companion about the issue and will see if they respond. But for nearly $40 there shouldn't be a 50/50 chance whether I the product works or not.

I found this easy to use and just got my first mold made
I found this easy to use and just got my first mold made.I make candles and have found some molds difficult to find. Or of a quality that I would sell the end product. So I decided to try making my own. Instructions were easy, I didn't have to learn a whole new hobby to get started and have a finished product.Have made my first mold, an apple I bought from the store and then polyurethaned before trying to make the mold. Came out great, the candle looks exactly like the apple I made it from. Even to the point of the small bruised spot on the apple. Gives the candle a uniqueness.I found some pitting in the candle when made, apparently from air bubbles in the mold. But I think the bubbles in the mold are due more to my inexperience when making the mold, than a product error. You can do one small object with the pound of rubber. I plan on ordering more after writing this review. Very excited!

Perfect result, but upsetting process.
The end result was perfect but I have to give it 4 stars because I have never had such a messy mold making experience in my life. The 10:1ratio is difficult and the large tub it comes in is not conducive to the requirements. The little measuring cup is perfect for the smaller component. It's that huge tub. I lost a lot of product trying to pour and scoop that goop out of that wide, daunting tub.Despite the perfect results I will not purchase this product again because of how messy it was.

The perfect mold making material
Excellent product for any casting need. Except molten metal. But that much should be clear. I've used this product for years to make everything from jewelry to car parts, and it picks up every detail in the item you are casting. Let me reiterate, every detail. That stray dog hair that got trapped? Well your ear gauge is gonna have a random dog hair sized bulge. It's strong, durable and easy to use.

Cured too fast
I was super excited to get this since I needed a tin-based silicone, but it became solid within 8 minutes of mixing. I double checked that I was putting in the correct amount of catalyst and tried again and poured quickly after I mixed it... Unfortunately it solidified as I poured the mix. You can see the air bubbles from the bottom. The second picture is the blob tl from the first attempt. The silicone seems like great quality! I think it's just the catalyst that is bad. I would love to try this again but with better catalyst
