Rockstar Energy Drink, Throwback Edition: O.G., 16 Fl Oz (Pack of 12) - Packaging May Vary

Its like 90-95% close. Essentially the difference between Real sugar vs High Fructose Corn Syrup. It still has a tinge of the newer Monster formula (the syrupy medicine taste VS Rockstar's harsher carbonation/acidic "taste") but deff prefer it to other things atm. I had been drinking 1-2 Rockstars per day since I was 16 (20+yrs) and have been in a spiral since Pepsi bought and destroyed Rockstar. Thank you for making this product.

The best tasting energy drink ever in my opinion! The OG flavor brings back early 2000's memories! Why Pepsi changed the formula is baffling! 🤯The new version is fine but nothing compared to the original flavor! I ordered the OG's a while back and was very happy! Now, unavailable. Sad now. 😭

Bring back the THROWBACK OG!!! Pepsi and Celsius have treated their fans of Rockstar energy terribly. First you try to pass off some foul tasting knock off only to bring it back after everyone screamed at you. Now, Pepsi has dumped the brand to Celsius for $525 million in stock and two of their VPs on the board. You know they originally bought Rockstar for approx 4 billion! Ran it right into the ground. My problem is that you have all these loyal fans, can't keep it in stock or refuse to keep it in stock. There is no doubt that people love rock star. In particular they love the throwback OG, sugar-free OG and the fruit punch. Those three seem to be the hardest ones to find. Amazon has been out since November and you could not buy it locally at a grocery store or gas station to save your life. Now I see Celsius replacing Rockstar for shelf space. Let me be clear for myself and everyone else. Bring back rock star. Keep it available for your loyal and fanatical fans who tend to buy cases of it every week and have drank it since day one. Those are loyal customers that deserve to know what's going on, why it's been out of stock and when it's going to be back. I highly encourage everyone to go to both the rock star, Celsius and Pepsi social media pages and let them know that you want Rockstar back in stock and not to phase it out in favor of Celsius. I believe that's what they are doing because they feel it takes market share away from their new brand. What they don't understand is that you can't replace Rockstar with those fruity Celsius drinks. It doesn't have the same flavor profile. People aren't going to suddenly switch from their favorite rock star to drinking Celsius. I don't know what executive thought of that bright idea that I've heard about. Do what's right and keep both products rolling. You have an established brand in Rockstar that people are just devoted to and love. It is basically their daily coffee and they drink three or four cans a day. The stuff is dirt cheap to make. You got the distribution. Make everyone happy and do what's right please!

Replacement is same junk.. cannot return item. No refund offered. I'm done. You lost a customer for life. TLDR: NOT OG but they do grow on you if you like a less sweet and more tart drink. After writing rockstar about their terrible new flavor masquerading as the original we all have loved these many years I received a link to this item on amazon. I was well pleased when my first order came in and was the original flavor with that perfect suck on your tongue zing! OG red tab cans with the pre cyberpunk graphics. I was too quick to drink it all down and decided to order more. That's where things fell flat. Literally.. This rockstar is bitter and flat. It doesn't taste anything like the original, nor like the gummy worm stuff they sell in stores. Or sold anyway. I haven't purchased one from a retail store since I bought out the few hundred og cans I could find after they changed the formula. I feel completely let down. How is it that rockstar cannot continue making a drink they made for over a decade? Why even send me to this sales page if they aren't going to keep their promise? I had an open mind when I saw the black tab. I thought maybe they really are back in production. Guess I thought wrong. Why do they keep changing the flavor? Is it a supply shortage? A materials price hike? The movie syrup got it all wrong. It's not about branding at all. It's about flavor. The only energy drink that hasn't failed me now is Red Bull. Guess thats why they cost so much. I tried, Rockstar... I tried. Thanks for the order before this one. It was great.. *edit: While it may not be og, it's definitely not the puke they were pushing in stores. I could probably get used to drinking it if it wasn't 270 calories. Oh well. I needed to quit this stuff anyway.

This is the best of Rock Star

As someone who worked 16 hours a day and lived on Rockstar, these are not the true OG recipe … the place I worked only had Rockstar in the vending machine when they first came out and they were ice cold and so good after a hard days work. I got used to the taste. The newer version is flatter, very sweet, misses the taurine or tang or something… it’s like a Coke vs a Pepsi or Sprite vs 7-Up (Pepsi is always sweeter for me). So when I saw the “OG” were back I was excited. But they do not bring back memories or nostalgia from the original so I do not think they are the same. I gave it a 4 because for the taste and the price versus say Redbull, you can’t beat Rockstar. I miss the version 1’s.

This drink will always get 5 stars from me. Everything about this drink is spot on. The sugar content is perfect for my taste buds. They've always had great carbonation and the size is great just the same. The ingredients in this mix of rockstar is one of a kind. the cost is fair as well. I've bought these drinks multiple times and never once did I have any leak on me
