There are plenty of insoles that feel nice and comfortable at first but get crushed down within a few miles of hiking and leave the underside of my forefoot area feeling irritated. I'm glad to report that the SOLE thick cork insoles (with metatarsal support) do not suffer that flaw. Right out of the box, I slid them into my Meindl Comfort Fit hiking boots (after removing the stock insoles of course) and took them on an 11-mile tryout over varied terrain with 1100 feet of elevation gain. My feet felt just as good at 11 miles as they did at 1. I gave them a second try today, on a shorter but very rocky route, and they continued to provide superior comfort.These insoles are very thick, so you'll need a boot or shoe with a roomy toe box. If you've worn Meindl Comfort Fit hikers, you know that they are very spacious inside. I'm not sure if these SOLE insoles would work as well in a boot with a snug fit. You'd be trading one discomfort for another if the tops of your toes get blisters from being jammed against the toe cap.As for arch support, I'd rate the SOLEs as good, but no better than the stock Meindl insoles (which are quite good quality cork insoles in their own right, by the way, just not cushioned enough in the forefoot for me). If arch support is the most important feature for someone, the Powerstep Pinnacle Hiker might be the best option, in my experience.When these SOLE cork insoles wear out, I'll be buying another pair.

I really do like these inserts but I should have ordered a wide width. They do work in a couple of my shoes so I’ll keep them. Good product.

I walk on concrete all day at work, sometimes 5-7 miles in a 13+ hour shift. My feet were killing me using Dr. Scholl’s work inserts. I got these Sole’s after they were recommended by my orthopedic surgeon. I put them in my boots and I have not come home with aching feet since. They’re amazing. Apparently you’re supposed to put these in the oven for two minutes and mold them in your shoe when you first use them. I didn’t read those directions and they worked perfect for me out of the box. The arch support is amazing. If I had to criticize something, the cork bottom does squeak sometimes, but I don’t care because my feet don’t hurt anymore. I will definitely be buying more of these!

Very comfortable and good support but the squeakiness makes it difficult to Pearl Harbor my cat.

The Sole units fit fine. The cork on the bottom squeaked with the original shoe liner, so I replaced the liner with a set from another set of shoes which didn't have a cork Sole. Problem solved.

I have a pair of the thick EVA insoles and after reading reviews that said the cork version was more comfortable, I figured I would try them out. These were uncomfortable and there felt like a bump or rock just in front of the heel to the outside of each insole. I also noticed no difference in the comfort level between the two materials. Considering how expensive these are, I am returning them.

I have Morton’s toe, Morton’s neuroma, Tailor’s bunion, and posterior tibial tendinitis all on right foot. Uff. Getting some relief has been hit or miss with boots and insoles so I can keep hiking. These insoles were a HIT. My expensive hiking boots that were making the right foot miserable feel like I had gotten them made to order. Totally satisfied and incredibly happy.

I would give this a negative star if I could.. absolutely the worst insoles I’ve ever used in my life!! I have never been in so much pain ever!!! Stupid price and stupid product.. wore once and going on the garbage
