Using it for a daily devotional. Dr. Charles Swindoll is an inspiration and a man-of-God. His insights are profound as he brings God's truths to light. He is a true blessing. His wisdom and biblical insights bless my life!

Chuck has written a plethora of books that have sold millions of copies. Many are written to be informative, inspirational and encouraging. This book includes all of these attributes. What I most like about Chuck's insight is his honesty about the biblical characters he writes about; these saints have some serious blemishes which are not hidden from view, but exposed for what they are...sin, failures, weaknesses, etc. As Dr. Swindoll shares these stories with us, he forces us to introspection, and then offers the reader an encouraging word and sound advice to become a better person-a more godly person. I am on my second way through this devotional (it reads like a novel, though) and I am still learning new lessons, being challenged, and growing in my love towards God and in appreciation for His Word. To me, this is the best book Chuck has ever written. I sincerely feel the Holy Spirit speaking through his words.

Chuck Swindon does such a great job discovering insights from the scriptures that make them come alive. He has a down to earth style that makes it seem like you’re reading letters from. a friend instead of a book from a world renowned author.
