Play-Doh 36 Can Mega Pack of Non-Toxic Modeling Compound, 3 Oz Cans

We bought this for our daughter knowing quite well that she is going to enjoy these Play-doh. And it hasn't disappointed. They come in so many different colors (36 to be precise), with each color nicely packed in a separate plastic can of matching color making it extremely easy to take out the required color. The can is well designed and its very easy to take doh out and put is back. They are also air tight and none of the dohs have dried even after an year. Of course, kids have spoiled a few already and sometimes they were left open for long enough to dry. We give a few cans at a time to the kids and they have served for more than an year now. The doh itself is of good quality - soft, easy to mold and easy to clean. We received these 36 cans in a cardboard box. So I was surprised when I saw some reviews that said the cans come in a box with a handle. Not in our case. My only gripe is that none of the basic tools are included with this mega pack which means we must buy them separately. Edit: Since Play-doh comes in so many different packaging, I did a quick comparison based on current prices as of 01/09/2014. The results are sorted by price/ounce in increasing order. Of course, the prices may vary so I would recommend doing a sanity check before you make decision. I was able to buy this pretty cheaply in January. I put it in a closet and forgot about it, waiting for a special day to pull it out and use it. I was originally thinking Easter, but then forgot about it again. My son just turned 8 and needed to take a treat to school for his class. His teacher doesn't allow candy or food for treats, so I was wracking my brain for ideas when I ran across this in the closet. Perfect! I didn't have to spend much money and each kid got a fun toy that would last for about $.60 a child. Better than useless junk that gets thrown away as soon as they get home. My son reported that all the kids played with their container in class, creating and having fun. His teacher emailed me and said what a huge hit this was with the class. I will continue to watch for this on sale to do again in future years since it was so successful this year.

I routinely play with Play-doh with the three grandkids that are 3 to 4 years old. By that age they have quit eating the stuff and aren't so old as to have lost interest. This is the ideal sized container. The larger containers have too much doh for small hands. This is a great set of colors. Some of the colors (like black, brown, and white) are hard to find in smaller sets. I don't buy the sets that squish the doh into shapes. Although they tons of fun, the doh gets stuck and hardens and you end up discarding the squishers. I buy cheap sets of cookie cutters, plastic cutting boards, one large good rolling pin, and lots of devices to cut and roll (be creative). Too keep the doh moist, occasionally add a 1/2 tsp of water to all the cans and let them set for a couple of days.

I purchased this for my young nephew's birthday party. We had a Play-Doh activity center and still had many leftover containers to place several in each child's goodie bag. The containers are rather small, but there are so many colors to choose from that it doesn't matter. This pack is perfect for little ones who don't need large amounts of Play-Doh or are going to mix their colors and leave it out to dry. Open a few at a time and keep unopened containers on hand when the "old" ones have served their purpose. A word of caution - no child at our event, regardless of age, could take the lids off of these things. A screwdriver or spoon to help pry off a lid may save you from chipping an expensive manicure.

I posted some pictures of these play-doh containers. I realize that finding 36 truly different colors is a difficult thing to do, but I had to mention that some of the colors are so similar that they are basically duplicates. It's still a great deal, though, and cheaper here than at any store I have seen. I had fun trying to get my kids to describe the color they wanted before actually picking it up. We had them all arranged like a rainbow of sorts, and then the kids would have to figure out a way to tell me exactly which color they wanted and I'd grab it for them. This led to discussion about light and dark, words like "purple-ish" and "reddish-orangish." It was fun. Good deal and definitely recommended! Oh, one of the cans was cracked and had dried out a little, but after mixing it up, it seemed okay. I had to tape up the crack so it would not continue to dry out.

I've purchased a lot of playdoh, over the years. This is the largest selection playdoh makes. Its pretty affordable, considering how much you get. and it offers a wide selection of colours to choose from. You get 36 3 oz cans, which is 108 oz or 6 lbs and 12 oz. This item has free shipping, on orders of $25 or more, which is great considering how heavy it is. If you're giving this as a gift, its also really easy to wrap. Keep in mind though, its priced at $24.99, which is just one penny shy of that $25 mark, so you'll need to add another item, to receive free shipping. Honestly, I wish they would have just priced this item at $25. That's my only complaint about this item. Otherwise, you really can't go wrong with playdoh.

Only 24 colors I did not get enough blues, purples, pinks and etc,. I didn't get dark blue my favorite color which it shows In the picture. Disappointing.

Bought this pack for my kindergarten classroom.. What can you really say? It's playdoh... 36 small tubs in all different colors! These work really well for me because each tub contains just enough for each child to play (and not mix colors ;)) I've bought these in the past and if you make sure they are sealed up after each use, they will easily last a small class an entire year! My last batch of 36 lasted the whole school year and then a half! For the price, this is a perfect pack of playdoh for a classroom or home!
