What an awesome shoe...but...
I absolutely love Keene shoes. I love these shoes, but am still a bit concerned. It's been more than a month and that troubling issue that other's have reported still crops up. At first, both shoes were painful at the side of the shoe--just above the toes. It's like the stitching there doesn't want to "give." My left shoe has completely stopped hurting, but the right shoe starts the "burn" after a bit of walking around. I bought them when I did so I'd have time to break them in for a big family vacation at the end of this month. They feel fantastic until I've walked around a while--maybe after half hour-to-an-hour. I still have 3 weeks 'til our trip--hoping this resolves.UPDATE: It’s been a few more weeks, so I want to update. These shoes are awesome. Best shoes I’ve ever had for sure! I can walk miles and still stay in them the rest of the day. Wish the break-in had been easier, but the discomfort was worth it to have these awesome shoes.

Not your usual Keen shoe.
I had ordered my usual size 9 (in fire brick) as all my other keen shoes are. But this shoe was defiantly 1/2 size too big, even with a wool sock. The leather is beautiful but very stiff. Inside the right shoe where the tongue is sewn by the laces, had a bean size, hard and painful lump. Returning them.I did like color, the leather and the look of them, enough to order a size 8.5.We’ll see.I can’t say I would recommend them as yet.Update to original post..... I have received the size 8 1/2 pair. They size is perfect this time. However the stitching on the inside (as before) right side where the bottom of the shoe tongue and bottom shoelace hole meet is the roughed, most painful bulge of leather and stitching thread I have ever see in a shoe before!!! I don’t get it. It’s in the left shoe also, jut not as large. These really are the cutest oxfords and the color red I’d beautiful.Sadly, Keen really missed on this one.I am going to contact Keenfootwear. ASAP

Comfortable but quality lacking
Overall, I like the appearance of the shoe. It had a weird seam on one shoe that was uncomfortable at first, but gradually wore down. However, in the 7 month time period I have had these, it's very clear the quality of the Keen shoe has lessened. The leather stretched and "crinkled" within a few weeks, even after using a shoe horn to try to prevent it. The sole of the shoe has worn through already, despite it not having heavy use. I keep hoping Keen will bring back the standard of the shoe they once had (I still have boots from 10 years ago that are in good condition all over), but continue to be disappointed!

1/2 size too small/small in vamp/stiff
Bought half size larger than usual. Removed foot bed insert and wore this way for 2 weeks as the vamp was too small. Then could re install insert and wear without pain in ball of foot. These shoes were super stiff, and hurt my foot just putting them on initially. A month on I purchased a second pair so I could break them in and get them before out of production. Love these shoes now.

This is my second pair...LOVE Them!!!
I am never buying tennis shoes again. My husband bought a black pair for me for a trip to Yellowstone/Tetons mountains. I walked almost 50 miles in a week in that pair and was completely amazed at how my feet, legs and back felt after some vigorous hikes. The longer you we are them, the better they feel and they feel pretty darn good out of the box. I am a KEEN believer now and I am buying several pairs of different styles.

Keen shoes have changed
We have worn Keen shoes for years. However, the last couple of purchases we have come to realize that something in the Keen manufacturing process has changed, and they're not the same shoes. We loved Keen's for the fit and durability, especially for wide feet. The last couple of purchases have been disappointing. I ordered these shoes in the same size I always wear for keen shoes and they were too loose in the heel and too narrow in the toe box. They appear to be well constructed yet, but obviously, since I couldn't wear them, I can't speak to their durability. Sad that I can't keep them, I did like the style, but the fit is off.

Stiff
The fit is good and I like the shoe other than it is very stiff - got blisters on my little toes. There is a seam right where it bends and rubs the outside toe. I'm hoping they loosen up with wear. So far not as comfortable as my past Keens. Also, do not like the round shoelaces - won't stay tied.
