(240ml) - Caswell-Massey Dr. Hunter's Hair Wash

This shampoo is not what you'd expect: its consistency is very thick. For a man with short hair, I use about as much as I would use toothpaste on my toothbrush, and though the bottle seems small, it lasted me two months with daily washes. The smell is so sublime, so anodyne, so perfect, I just can't imagine anyone disliking it. It leaves my hair soft, clean, manageable, and shiny. This is absolutely worth the cost!

My favourite wash. Nice squeaky clean. A very old fashioned scent that works for anyone. Was disappointed that the bottle was plastic though.

It is hard to believe that this is a formula the Caswell-Massey company sold this exact formula in the 1880's as they claim. It is probably very close, but there are some modern ingredients included they surely did not use back then. But the 8 ounce apothecary style plastic bottle and label is very nostalgic in appearance and the scent is a nice clean and light fragrance that I really like. The shampoo has been gentle on my hair and scalp. They claim this is from formula came from the companies old records for a shampoo sold by the company in the 1880s, and that it is all natural ingredients. The listed ingredients are Glycerine, Vitamin B, Sweet Almond Oil, and extracts of Rosemary, Parsley Ginseng, and Lemongrass. It does not list any sulfates or parabens. They say it has glycerine to condition hair and scalp, and rosemary to restore luster. For me, it goes on very soft, but a small amount creates a lot of lather. I admit I have not had to use conditioner while using this shampoo.

Mumzy began using this product a few years ago. Since then, she has not used any other shampoo. Prior to using this product, Mumzy was losing her hair, ... not a good thing: Her hair had lost its luster. Quite simply put ... it resembled my toy mouse, ... once I have finished playing with it, ... have dunked it in my water bowl, ... and have burried it in my litter box. A most terrible and miserable sight! She tried quite a few products, yet nothing seem to help. It was rather a dilemma. This is when Grand-mumzy suggested to her that she should use a particular type of shampoo which contained certain ingredients. Mumzy did her research, and found out that Dr. Hunter's Hair Wash had the specific ingredients which Grand-mumzy had mentioned. Mumzy was somewhat familiar with the Caswell-Massey products. She orders from them quite frequently ... much to Popzy's dismay. They are a wonderful company. Their products are marvelous. Thus, I do encourage everyone to check their website. They are an old, and established American company. In fact, they have quite a history as well. It is said that President George Washington, as well as President Kennedy, along with many other famous dignitaries have purchased, and have used Caswell-Massey products. However, ... back to the shampoo. This shampoo is terrific! It nourishes the hair, makes it quite shiny and soft. Yet, it does not make the hair limp. Mumzy does not use any other product. In fact, when she found out that Caswell-Massey was backordered on this shampoo, she swiftly checked Amazon. It was great that Amazon had the shampoo, because Mumzy does not use anything else on her fur ... Excuse me, for I meant to say ... hair! Oh! ... Phffft! Hair ... fur, what is the difference?! However, too bad it is not for pussycats. One's fur can never be too shiny or too beautiful. Meow! Phffft!

little goes a long way. Expensive, but worth it, gives hair great shine and body, smells pretty good to boot.
