ElkayLKC0717SS Colander, Polished Satin

Elkay is a brand that has been around a long time. We have some of their sinks and like them. I typically buy the sinks when I need a particular size for an area of a house that is non-standard in dimensions. The colander is solid. I had to modify it to make it fit. While it's the correct size for my Elkay sink, the hole made by the countertop team is a bit too small for the colander which is not Elkay's fault. The hole was about 1/8" to small. I unscrewed the fasteners on both ends which exposed the underlying wood. Drilled new holes in the metal and refastened. Work fine but just note I'm a contractor and do this type of work all the time. Might be more difficult for the avg homeowner. Important to use metal drill bits for the metal and make sure they are new / sharp. The metal is very thin. Use slow rotation to avoid biting and folding the metal. Happy with the colander. Looks good and works well.

This product looked great when it first arrived. It fit perfectly in our sink and was a great addition. The wood however is finished with a cheap material and looks very faded after cleaning with hot water and a sponge.
