Beautiful gaiwan. It is true bone porcelain. Well made for the price. I bought this to brew tea at my desk while I work. Took a lil getting used to holding as it is slightly larger than my other gaiwan but easy to use and convenient. Just simply gorgeous sitting out on my coffee table.

I am very happy with this purchase. It is well made, delicate and beautiful. It's translucence is like that of high quality porcelain, and exceeds that of other brands offered at a similar price point. This appears to be genuine bone porcelain to me. Fits snuggly in the saucer, and lid fits correctly as well. Very comfortable and easy to use.
