Excellent look, Excellent adjustment!
Excellent! I was incredibly and pleasantly surprised by this vest. It looks fantastic, and the buckles on the side offer a lot of adjustment. I wear a 44 (roughly) chest, and so I bought the 3XL (to account for whatever shirt or whatnot I may be wearing beneath the vest. Interestingly the vest was actually a little bit too big! I saw a number of reviews saying that for about my size, they suggest going to about 3X and that it still may be smallish, but in all honesty, I had to cinch mine in all the way. COULD just be my particular vest, but regardless, that's how my experience with the item was.I absolutely love it endlessly. It looks very posh, and works well with a couple new pants I bought, as well as a collarless black dress shirt. It's a good thickness, and appears to be pretty durable and well made. it's comfortable, and the adjustment capability is quite excellent, in my experience. If you think that this vest might look good on your or a friend, etc... I definitely suggest getting it. it's absolutely going to be worth it!

Great buy!!!!
O.K...had to return the first one...XL, and trade it for an XXL (only took 3 days to complete this process) I have a 46" chest and 34" waist...and the XXL fits nicely. I like the fact that you can make adjustments (belts) on the side with this to tighten it up so it doesn't just hang...but wraps around your waist. This particular garment rivals those which I have purchased from Shrine of Hollywood....and their vest prices start at $125. (I own 6 of them, and they are all of professional caliber). This vest at $89 was a great find...well made...looks great on with a tux shirt...maybe even an ascot. My XMAS party attire...I will be proud to wear this among a group of attorneys at the upcoming office XMAS party who will all dress like Biff from the Hamptons...boring Biff....boring....:-).....

Really very nice
Wow! This is so nice. Very well made and certainly what I had expected. The fit is nice and I was able to cinch it down with the side straps. I'm typically a 42 chest with a 34 waist, but recently lost weight and now at 32 or less. I got the Medium and am very happy with the fit. The vest is really well made, lined with black nylon and remarkably, it's double stitched on all seams that I saw. The collar is black velvet, the tapestry pattern is nice and the material is a good weight. Really like this thing and my wife says "sexy". So, I'm really good with that! (this is not Cindy BTW,,, it's her husband)

A decent vest at a fair price.
Quality fabric, but obviously mass produced. Dangling threads in multiple places and a little large. However overall comfort in the piece is good, and it looks perfect with the costume I was working on, after cleaning up the leftover threads. Not to terrible a price, as well as speedy delivery. Hopefully will last through a few wears.

Invest in a sewing kit when purchasing.
Few things right off the bat (the TL;DR):- Runs very small; you need to order *at least* 2 sizes larger- It's a great design, you'll struggle to find a double-breasted vest w/ these kinds of coat-tails- The workmanship of the article is slightly below par; invest in a sewing kitThe Good:This is a pretty neat design - nice idea with the wider collar, double-breast config w/ the straps and the tapered coattails. I got this specifically because it would give a "well to do" look to my Privateer/Pirate outfit. Since it's dark grey/black, it also lends itself well to a variety of outfit types, Pirate, Steam Punk, Gothy High School student whom nobody understands the grief and sorrow that is having no real responsibilities in life -saving for cleaning one's room- you know, all the fantasy bases. The Bad:Execution (sewing, workmanship) is sub-par. Invest in a sewing kit because **you will need to re-sew buttons when they inevitably fall off** - for me, this started happening on the second "put on" - and after roughly 8 hours of actual wear, I had to re-sew **every. single. button.*** on this vest. Knowing what I know now, I would simply have additionally re-enforced the threading on all the buttons before even trying the vest on.The Ugly:Runs. Very. Small. - I'm not a small guy (6'1" - Athletic build, ~250-275lbs) - and the XXXL is snug-borderline-small, but they don't offer an XXXXL. So keep in mind that apparently DarkChic sizes their clothing based on small children, despite their insistence to the contrary.

Well made and looks great!
Very well made! I looked at most all of the reviews, some people said they had a lot of strings, I had maybe 2 that we super easy to clip off. Just needed a little ironing (DON’T iron the collar, velvet can be ruined, iron the back of the collar). I chose this for a Robert Burns party and bought a white pirate/Victorian shirt to dress in Victorian period and it was a hit!I’m a medium and got a medium, the side buckles we’re great to tighten just a little, I’d say it’s true to size.

Worth the cost!
I am actually surprised by the quality of garment. Usually one would expect a flimsy cloth costume type. This is actually a nice heavy weight material. Buttons need reinforcement a bit, it is lined and the stitching is backed though which is kinda of shocking to see. Granted I paid $60+ but it was worth it. Have to trim a few of the threads (not a clean trim and some danglers). The jacquard pattern is nicely visible and raised. Collar is a decent quality felt. plush. Buttons and buckles are not too flimsy of metal.
