muchos amantes del arte están en contra del sobre análisis del artista detrás de la obra, y creen que es mejor que la obra hable sobre si misma.personalmente creo qué hay valor en las dos lecturas, cualquier trabajo artístico va a tener una lectura personal en el espectador distinta a la de otros, incluida la indiferencia.pero cuando hablamos de un artista como basquiat, me parece de mucho interés saber más su obra, sus posibles inspiraciones, y quizás su significado, por lo cual este libro me llamo mucho la atención, y no me ha decepcionado.

This is required reading for anyone seriously interested in JMB's artistic output and his milieu. I wonder why other than the slight monographs and exhibition catalogues, not much serious thought is published about JMB.

I've spent years trying to convert naysayers regarding Basquiat's creative genius. Why they resist has amazed me. Now comes Jordana Saggese's exceptional read where she has provided the long awaited put-up that is the naysayer shut-up. Can I give it six stars!
