These are not brass. They are musical toys for children.
I could immediately tell from the weight and the tone of these cymbals (kartels) that they are not made out of brass. Brass is a lot heavier than these cymbals. Brass also has a loud, sustaining tone. These don't. They feel like aluminum or something like that, that are coated with a brass finish? I don't know. They were in expensive and look nice, so I'll keep them. I feel they are actually designed for children. However, if you are serious about getting a high quality set of kartels with vibrant, sustaining good tone... you may want to spend more money and purchase a quality set.

Looks good, sounds clunky
If you’re looking for a pleasant ring, I wouldn’t buy these. The cymbals are flat and aren’t too hollow and when played, it sounds clunky. I play for bhajans that are fast so I need something that can keep up with a double speed. These work, but the shape makes it odd to play. However the engravings, and the string are of good quality. I don’t think these are in the same league as an authentic Indian manjira, so if you can go to a place where you can test them first, I’d recommend that.
