KleenWaterHot Water Filter, Premier KWHW2510 High Temp Filtration System

Purchased this due to prior home owner bypassing the house filter with a well that has heavy sediment problems. Hot water kept passing the sediment to our fixtures and caused blockages. After flushing the tank several times, more sediment kept being passed. Figured instead of replacing the water heater I'd try a filter to buy some time.Pros: the ring that spins on to hold the housing is not attached to the housing, I particularly like this feature as it makes it way easier to allign the filter when assembling. The whole thing is well made.Bought the 3 filters and extra seal as well. the filters remove sediment, but some iron oxide passes. Not enough to discolor, but you can smell it in the water.You will need 3/4 NTP adapters for intake and discharge sides to plumb it, easily found at Lowe's. I used PEX Shark bite 3/4 NTP to 3/4 PEX and thread tape to seal the threads.48 hours of service and no leaks.Cons:The package says that the filter housing should be replaced every 5 years. Unsure where you would order just the housing from..**Amazon listing says '180 degree max temp' but the product itself says 175 degree max. Just a minor thing but to someone could be a big problem.

I was able to install it with regular plumbing tools and glue. Works well but (Heads Up) it didn’t come with a filter.I’m using a regular water filter in it right now & it’s working fine at the moment. I’d buy another one if I bought another house that had an electric instant whole home water heater again. It easily catches the sediment thus far.

Hot water can pose a dire risk to health as it is an often unfiltered source of contamination. I am very pleased with this filter system. It is very well constructed and reduced this risk of particle contamination. Even though the filter could be used for larger duty I placed this unit directly under my kitchen sink to take away some of the debris right before it hits our dishes. I feel the filter is a great value and that it has already proved a great resource. I would highly recommend it. The reason I use mine just before the tap is simply because we have an old plumbing system and the town pipes are old as well so I know we have debris all throughout the lines.

It does not come with a filter. It is just an empty canister. It does not come with any supply lines/tubing. Most filtration systems at least come with the first filter. The company also charges $6.99 to return the product even though it's an Amazon Prime product. I do not recommend this company.

Pretty upset over this, that for the money you think they would include the specialized tool to turn the air valve. Buyer beware and be sure to buy the tool. Any attempt to use a standard Philips head or flat head screw driver wont work
