The Exchange (London Prep Book 1)

AMAZING FIRST BOOK 🇬🇧
I was obsessed with this book. I don’t know if it was because Mallory is so relatable and holy hotness Noah and Harry make me drool? But I was instantly sucked into this world and I amNOT mad about it. The adventure Mallory goes on is so fun to follow. She’s an American girl on an exchange program where she is studying for 3 weeks in London. She’s staying with a host family (where can I get a Williams family?!) and boy do the adventures begin when she touches down. I loved following her around and watching the characters build more and more into their own. I was so excited to finally read this and to know the last one will be out in April! Nothing worse than waiting forever to conclude a series. I’ve already dove into #2! I highly recommend this series. It’s a quick, fun read!

Very High School
Lots of analysis for 16 year Olds. Bit it keeps you entertained. Many that was a Long Week and there was to be two more!

A little let down
I chose this book based on another author’s recommendation in a newsletter. I was so excited based on the description and reviews.I was a little let down. I thought it was just okay. The main character, Mallory, is not relatable and the story line of a love triangle between a solid and great group of friends. The boys in the book, Noah, Harry, and Mohammed, are fantastic. I instantly felt connected with them and thought the layers of their characters we intriguing and easy to connect to. But the heroine, Mallory, ruined the story for me. She’s a bit self absorbed and a little too dramatic, even for a teenage girl. She frustrated me how she is playing around with these two boys and their friendship for a relationship that will ultimately just be temporary (or as far as we know at this point in the series. I easily found my self invested in the Williams family and the three boys of the “boys club”. But I could not find a way to root for Mallory. I really tried, but she just let me down through every twist and turn. I have read YA and enjoy the journey young love takes. This was just too cheesy gossip girl for me.

Strong characters and teenage angst
I became a fan with the Keatyn Chronicles and love to see each new series from this author. Mallory lives up to Keatyn, Huntley, J.J., Jennifer, etc. And the boys, on yeah, soccer gods, party guys, supportive friends, all there. Throw in the confusion of attraction and the who will Mallory chose feelings and I can't wait for the next book. Also love Helen and the exchange student aspect new to this book so we get to see extra familial caring.Spoilerish Warning*******I see Noah as Aiden/Danny/Daniel/Ari.I see Harry as Cush/Brooklyn/Lorenzo/DallasI see Mohammad as Riley/Cash/PhillipSo I have no clue who Mallory will choose and I kind of wish #WhyChose is an option.

Another great book by Jillian Dodd
So I read sample of book at the end of the spy girl series and thought I would give it a try. I am so glad that I did. Those boys are definitely an interesting trio. I like that she has Mohammad for a friend since she doesn’t have a girl friend there. Usually I don’t like love triangles or a potential one. Since she did such a great job in spy girl I figured I would still give this book a whirl. And omg Harry and Noah. I was definitely swooning and enjoying some of those scenes. I can’t help it that I am a sucker for accents. Even though Noah gets a bit grumpy at times with Mallory. I am just glad he’s not a bully though Olivia definitely is one. I can’t stand bully to lovers books. Because in real life bullies are going to be an abusive relationship and women shouldn’t be conditioned into thinking that they will suddenly change. I don’t want to spoil anything, I do like that the author had a storyline that included a sometimes tuff topic to talk about. I really hope that she continues that and the situation will improve.

Who will Mallory pick?
I am so glad this series has many books published already. I got swept up into the Kensington world. Mallory has found herself with only three boys that are her friends and two that clearly like her. Plus she stood up to the queen bee of the school. She’s got a lot going on for her 3 week student exchange program. Can’t wait to see what happens next.

Cliffhanger, much?
When I started reading, I was not aware that this book only covers the first week of the exchange mentioned in the blurb. So this story ends at a point where nothing is resolved. Meh. (I'm not a fan of cliffhangers, YMMV.)Also, there's a LOT of drama for such a short amount of time covered in the book, and it took me a while to warm up to Mallory and the boys (not Mohammad, though, he was an insta-like :) ).

An enjoyable teenage drama
I enjoyed reading this. The characters although young were all different in their own way. Teenage problems are the worst. The main character in this book is Mallory James, an exchange student from America. She has a good life in New York with her parents, although not happy about the exchange being sprung on her, it’s only for three weeks so she goes reluctantly. Her host family seem very different to her own, very family orientated, are warm and kind. Noah is the son, same age and very hot. Unfortunately for Mallory she has already met Harry, Noah’s best friend in a slightly strange first encounter in a pub. They all seem to get along well, the third friend in this group is Mohammad. Mallory and Mohammad are firm friends and she uses him to her advantage, gaining information on the other two and using him as a sounding board for her problems. Not sure if this is such a good thing seeing as they guys have been friends for a very long time. They know each other well. Seems to be only a matter of time before this friendship is put to the test. Noah seems to be on a mission to turn Mallory’s head and she knows this. To be honest, I’m team Noah, not sure what Mallory sees in Harry, but Noah gets my vote. I will definitely be reading the next book in this series.

As amazing as the rest of her books!
This book had my turning page after page until I'd finished it all in one sitting. The plot was fun and engaging and the dreamy boy characters certainly didn't disappoint. I can't wait for the next book to come out!
