Charmed: The Complete Third Season

Blu Ray Edition 👍
The picture quality is great on the blu ray set. Especially for being made on-demand. This is overall better presented than season 2. The menu is bland (as expected) but overall you’ll be happy if you like Charmed and are a collector. Season 3 is one of the best, if not the best season. Don’t hesitate. The original Charmed deserves every penny.

Season 3 is Finally On Blu-ray in HD!
Season 3 is my favorite season with Prue, so this was a great set overall. I think that the season 1 Blu-ray had the best remastering both picture and audio-wise, but season 3 is my second favorite Charmed Blu-ray release. Unlike season 2's Blu-ray release, you can actually skip the intro properly and go to the next scene. I wish the audio was a bit better and louder like the season 1 Blu-ray though. There were a few errors that were a bit annoying though. In the episode Bride and Gloom when Phoebe throws out the wedding planners through the front door, the aspect ratio momentarily changes from the Blu-ray 16:9 to the DVD one of 1:33:1, which isn't too noticeable in my view. The biggest error was in the episode Just Harried. Phoebe is walking to the stairs to talk to Prue, and a bit of dialogue is cut off.Overall, this set is nice if you want to finally watch season 3 of Charmed in HD.

High def (mostly) and wide format
So many shows remastered in bluray were unable to go to wide 16x9. But this one was able to. And so you literally see more than ever before. The short cut scenes of the city are low res.. but those don't really matter. It's subtle, but film 1080p has a slightly smoother look than digital camera 1080p. Still sharp, just a little less, harsh maybe? Has a more relaxed movie quality. If you looked really close you might even see a super subtle bit of film grain. Anyway, love the series. Love the bluray. Wish all series in this era could be remastered.

Charmed - Season III, 4.5 stars
This is my favorite season of this series - the tension was really ramped up as Prue desperately tried to find out more info about The Triad; Piper & Leo's impending marriage plans anger The Elders; and Phoebe falls for the new Assistant D.A. who has secrets of his own. This season really clicks on all levels - the acting, story lines & special effects all work well and I never tire of re-watching this season. This is also Shannen Doherty's last season on the show (sadly because her character, Pru was my favorite sister) and it's interesting to watch these episodes again knowing that and I wonder if the writers tried to clue the viewers in to the upcoming changes: in DEATH TAKES A HALLIWELL, the Angel of Death tells Pru that she would've died had she kept interfering in his plans & Piper's acquiring a new offensive power to help the sisters protect themselves.Of the 22 episodes the ones I consider the strongest and which are my favorites are:THE HONEYMOON'S OVER - 1st episode of the season we find out that Piper & Leo are still "up there" leaving Pru & Phoebe to wonder if they'll ever return; we are also introduced to Cole Turner, the new A.D.AALL HALLIWELL'S EVE - the Sisters are transported back to the 1600's to save a magical babySIGHT UNSEEN - Pru's obsession over stopping The Triad causes drama as a 2nd demon is sent to kill the SistersPRIMROSE EMPATH - Cole tricks Pru into uncursing a demon (notable for the Matrix-like fight between Pru & the demon)SLEUTHING WITH THE ENEMY - Pru & Piper work with a demonic bounty hunter to find Belthazor while Phoebe searches for ColeCOYOTE PIPER - an evil essence takes over PiperBRIDE & GLOOM - Pru is kidnapped by a demon who wants to wed her, turning her & thus her sisters evil (hysterical scene when Piper & Phoebe being to use their "evil" powers)PRE-WITCHED - Piper & Leo decide to move out as the sisters battle a demon (formerly a cat) with 9 lives to spare; this epi also features flashbacks to when their Grams was alive as each sister decides to move outSIN FRANCISCO - a demon who possesses a box of The 7 Deadly Sins curses the sisters & Leo with a sin each (Holly Marie Combs - Piper & Brian Krause - Leo are especially hilarious in their portrayals of sin)LOOK WHO'S BARKING - Pru casts a spell to track a Banshee demon which turns Pru into a dog while Phoebe becomes a Banshee after battling the demonALL HELL BREAKS LOOSE - one of the best episodes of the series! The sisters race to save an innocent and while Pru & Piper are exposed practicing magic by a news crew, Phoebe goes to the underworld to save Cole.

Shannen Doherty's last season is incredible
The 3rd, and last season with Shannen Doherty as Prue, shows Charmed at it's finest. All three sisters through-out the span of the season develop a lot more emotionally and become more powerful and skilled in magic. New evils are revealed for them to face and touching moments occur more often than not. Leo and Piper's relationship finally comes full circle yet still is realistically rocky considering the lives they lead. The amazing thing about Season 3 though is Julian McMahon as Cole Turner/Balthazar. He falls in love with Phoebe and adds a whole new depth to the concept of the story and also a new perspective of good and evil (and the grey areas that exist in between). Julian McMahon being added as a permanent cast member was the best thing to happen to the show in my opinion because his presence and charisma make the show that much more fun to watch. Whether it's him as Cole being very stoic, mysterious, or vulnerable or being Balthazar and showing rage and pain at the same time. There are a couple episodes that weren't as good as the others but this season of Charmed is EXTREMELY solid. Towards the end of the season, Shannen Doherty's tension behind the set began to show a little but incredibly enough, she channeled that frustration into Prue and made her even more fierce and determined. My favorite season of Charmed so far (I'm watching them in order right now).Highly recommended.

True Classic Original Charmed!
Decided to purchase Charmed seasons recently due to them no longer being accessible to stream anywhere, as it's been a while since I last watched any. Netflix have even taken it off too - I imagine this is to make way for the "New Updated" version of said title, which Is by far a pointless, weak imitation, aimed at the teenage market.. I personally preferred it when Rose McGowan joined the Cast/Sisterhood in series four. It went from strength to strength after this is my opinion.. The Charmed Original Series, all of it is and always will be sophisticated, clever & engrossing escapism television. A true classic!

Best series of Charmed.
Firstly, the discs arrived quickly and as advertised. There are no extras so if you like them, look elsewhere. The episodes are the full episodes not the hacked to pieces ones that E4 show. Although the box set is rated 15 in fact it is only one episode in my opinion (All Hell Breaks Loose) that is worthy of that certification. There is mild swearing and violence in most episodes but AHBL shows violence and it’s aftermath realistically.Onto the series. *SPOILERS* I am a latecomer to Charmed and a big fan of the original cast, and much prefer the first three series. And of those the third series is considered to be the strongest and it lives up to it’s reputation. It is my favourite by a whisker from the excellent s2. There is of course the famous (and previously mentioned) All Hell Breaks Loose which is regarded (deservedly) as the best Charmed Episode ever. It is a sensational episode which combines all the factors which made Charmed so watchable as well as extraordinary acting. However that’s not the only classic episode in the series; Pre-Witched is showcasing the sisters’ bond at it’s best with the use of flashbacks, Sin Francisco is the second best comedy episode in the entire series in my opinion only to s2's Chick Flick and Coyote Piper is another episode that combines humour, suspense and dancing (check out Piper’s infamous bar dance) to make a superb episode. These four are the stand out episodes but there is plenty more to enjoy-Piper and Leo’s romance takes many twists and turns before they finally tie the knot; Cole Turner, a character who would drive most of series 4, is introduced as a love interest to Phoebe, and Phoebe makes a decision and keeps a secret from her sisters that affects them all. There is much to enjoy with my only complaint being the same as s1 and s2 that there are too many episodes focusing solely on Prue. Charmed was strongest when it showcased all three sisters. But that is a minor quibble and if you are a fan for the price it is money well spent.

Third times the charm
This third season of 'Charmed' is a very entertaining one and is probably one of my favourite seasons from the shows entire run. Usually, even with series that I really enjoy, there is rarely a season that doesn't include a couple of episodes that I dislike but with Charmed season three there are no episode that I actively dislike. The season sees the introduction of a new character to the main cast, Phoebe's love interest Cole Turner nicely played by Julian McMahon and I think he is probably one of my favourite characters from the series. The season also sees Piper and Leo's relationship advance quite nicely and ends things with an interesting cliffhanger.Of the twenty-two episodes in this season my favourites are probably the Halloween episode 'All Halliwell's Eve', 'Primrose Empath' that sees Prue's attempt to help an innocent has unexpected consequences, 'Blinded by the Whitelighter' that shows us the real of the Whitelightes for the first time and 'Bride & Gloom' where Prue is force to marry a Warlock. The season also includes The Good , the Bad & the Cursed and Sin Francisco which are both quite funny. If I had to choose a least favourite episode it would probably be the fairy episode 'Once Upon a Time'. The season finale 'All Hell Breaks Loose' is a relatively good episode with some nice moments even if the ultimate result of the episode was due to backstage politics.Overall this was a very entertaining season of 'Charmed' and is well worth a full five stars

Five Stars
The good old days of charmed. I love this season so much, it is one of the strongest ones out of the entire series. I loved the Phoebe and Cole storyline, Julian was a great addition to the show as part of the main cast. Another good thing about this season, is that Piper and Leo finally get married. All hell breaks loose is one of the best episodes from the series. This is also a sad season as it is the last season of Prue :-( Overall a great season :)
