Election Board Game

My grandson and I play this game. He's 7 and an advanced reader. We really have fun with it. The first time we played, we played for 3 hours and when done, he looked at me and said, can we play again? This is really well designed in strategy, and accuracy and so we learned a lot about how elections work as well as having fun doing it. You can choose how long of a game you want to play and one of the suggestions is to do a game over a month, with one play a day. I think we might do that as we approach the election.With just a few times playing this, I think the presidential election this year will be of big interest to him and he'll have a good understanding of electoral college vs popular vote. It's awesome when educational and fun come together in a game like this.My grandson said he loves reading the Daily News card - they are fun and sometimes funny as well as part of the game.My only suggestion would be to add even more diversity to the people - there is some, but it doesn't represent the percentages in the US yet.

Great for a family board game night - slow moving, but very engaging. Great for our 3rd and 6th graders!

We liked it, but it took a little effort to play...also didn't like the poor choices in ethnic diversity...but I guess it must reflect the type of one sided 'look' that our country has for presidents.

Played this today with my 7 year old son (he's very into games, and reads well). We really enjoyed it and found it relatively easy to play. A perfect way to introduce the election process and the electoral college. A great mix of fun and educational. Highly recommend this purchase for this presidential election year! While the instructions seem a bit overwhelming, if you just use them step by step as you start playing it's quite accessible. The instructions also give a lot of good variations for different lengths of time, and you can even play it in a one turn a day format leading up to the election which sounds fun if you have the space to leave it out. The company also answered a question I asked them incredibly promptly. Highly recommend.

This is a great game for a family, like ours, that's as likely to talk about current events as any sports or entertainment event. We enjoyed the game's realism and humorous touches, along with the strategic elements that had us match wits with each other. It works for a wide range of ages. Even the artwork on the box appealed to us parents, as it evokes the "Schoolhouse Rock" era of mixing education and fun.

This game is amazing; it hits the sweet spot between "fun" and "educational." Election is a fun and effective way to introduce anyone to American elections (including the electoral college). This game works well at home, but the ideal use for this game is in a classroom where a motivated teacher can integrate it into the curriculum.

Great game to play as a family. Complex but fun. The only negative was that they drew the State of Maryland wrong on the maps.
