Works, really loud, but finicky sensitivity
I have 4 of these now. They are REALLY loud - if you are within 6 feet when it goes off it will be physically painful to your ears. But a good deterrent to a burglar, I imagine. I fiddled with the sensitivity setting a bunch, till finally turning it down to minimum, and still some go off for no reason whatsoever. Moreover, they surely go off when it thunders! But otherwise, when the door is just slightly opened even slowly, they go off, so that is good. But I am living with them.

Not quite what expected
The product seems quality made so the low rating is not for the product quality but rather the description should have included you have to shake a door knob in order for the alarm to go off. I was expecting it to function like my other door alarms, as soon as the door knob is touched the alarm goes off. By the time the door knob is shook on this model, the intruder will already be in the room. I like that is uses 2 AA batteries instead of 9V. There is a sensitive adjustment on the alarm but I dont have a tool to fit so can adjust to see if could be made more sensitive. I only bought one due to price point. I paid just under $12 which seemed a bit high. So price point and not being able to adjust the sensitivity is the reason for the rating, if I can make it more sensitive would probably go to 4 stars.

Loud and easy to use
Have visitors and want to keep their ill-behaved kids out of your study? Have a guest who likes to wander the house after everyone is in bed to do a little snooping? These will get the attention of everyone in the house and embarrass the trespasser. Easy to use and lightweight. The only reason I didn't give a 5-star rating is because I don't know how long they will last, although they do seem sturdy.

useful
I use this in summer when I leave my front door open for ventilation while I'm in my back yard. There are some false alarms, like when the wind blows the screen door (it might not happen to you, if your screen door fits tighter than mine).Scares the bejesus out of people who knock on your door, but they'll get over it. It's a good little security item.

Would have been great had it worked.
I had high hopes but it just won't work on the types of doors my daughter has. I would have rated it (5) stars had it worked. To the credit of the seller, they do caution about the door issues but I took a chance anyway. The construction and quality is very good but pay attention to the door issue.

Good alarm system for your home
We purchased 3 of these to use on all of our doors leading to the outside of our home. The sound is loud enough to wake you, which is what we wanted. The only complaint we have is that they do go off sometime on their own, with nothing setting them off that we could tell.

Works well
Product design is just as pictured and described. I found using it on older door knobs (home is over 100 years old) decreases product's ability to detect knob being touched, however as soon as knob moves, alarm sounds without issue. Excellent and inexpensive solution for piece of mind at home.

Impractical
I had high hopes for this product, but it is simply too sensitive. Even when I lowered the sensitivity level to the lowest possible point - it was still way too sensitive. Anything and everything (and seemingly nothing at all)set it off. That does not work for my situation, and I suspect for the situations of most others. But if you're o.k. with hypersensitivity, this might be the product for you!The other problem with the hypersensitivity is that when you need to remove the product from the door (or just turn it off), it's pretty much impossible to do so without the alarm blasting in your ears. Not fun, and nothing I want to deal with on a regular basis. Maybe somebody has figured out a way around this, but I didn't. If you're willing to tolerate this at all, definitely wear earplugs. The alarm is quite loud. The bottom line, from my experience, is that if you want a product that you can put on a door and take it off on a regular basis, I think you will find this to be impractical.
