Easy to dissolve and mix in yogurt. No flavour so it's easy for children to have. It does seem to make them a bit sniffly in the first two weeks when building up gut flora.

So, I brought this for my 2 year old toddler. She was born via c section and at one years old she was on IV antibiotics because of a serious infection so a year later (now) I decided that mental health starts with gut health as it is your ‘second brain’. So I brought this for my 2 year old. I followed the instructions according to her age. I measured and gave her this powder in her juice. She drank it no problem. This was late afternoon. By the morning, I came into her room and poop was all over her cot. Nappy explosion does not cover it. So I cleaned up and cleaned her up. It wasn’t water poop, it was lava poop. Literally everywhere. Fast forward 3 days on, she is still having loose nappies where I have to constantly be on guard to change her nappy quickly or else It will leak. She’s in premium pampers too! So she’s still having loose bowel movements, she’s eating fine, sleeping fine, playing as normal- apart from those lava nappies. Last night I decided to try some. I measured a teaspoon which is the dose indicated for children up to 12 years old. That was at 11pm last night. Within 30 minutes it felt like it was sitting on my stomach and my reflux worsened. No bother, I went to bed and slept well. Next morning, all hell broke loose, literally. Lava poop for me. There’s no way we can persevere with this probiotic as it is too disruptive to our lives. I have put it in the bin and we will not be using this again. We are going to stick with our Holland and Barrett probiotic which is far more gentle. Remember the film ‘bridesmaids’? ‘It’s coming out of me like LAVA!!’ - yeah, that’s us. Update: my daughter still has severe watery diarrhoea a week on from giving her this supplement. She is not getting better at all and is getting worse. Perhaps this was a faulty batch? Either way, it’s still in the bin. Never again. Update 2 (03/02/2021) joking aside, it’s been 16 days since my daughter has had a bad stomach from having this product at half her age group dose. She has just turned 2 years old and 16 days after I gave it to her we are still having explosive nappies and water diarrhoea. Her results came back from the doctor and her stool results came back as ‘Normal’ therefore no pathogens detected, yet she is still having water diarrhoea several times a day that goes everywhere to the point j have to fully change all her clothes. I also have to change her bed everyday because as soon as she wakes up, all hell breaks loose. As I said previously, I threw this product away so it is in landfill now. I DO NOT recommend giving this to your baby’s or children. Avoid. And just stick to yogurt cultures. The severe diarrhoea continues.... Update 3: 05/02/2021 my 2 year old toddler is still passing mucus diarrhoea. The GP now wants to do a blood test and another stool sample. She’s got raw nappy rash despite my best efforts to keep her clean and dry. She is clingy, in pain and calpol has been an absolute saviour for her and gives her a little break from the pain. She has lost loads of weight and I am just praying that whatever is wrong with her as a result of taking this probiotic, that she gets better. Update 16/02/21 - my daughter is still the same. Absolutely no improvement whatsoever. Not only is it distressing for her, but also me as her mother having to change many runny nappies a day with food just going through her. She now has really bad diarrhoea burn. She continues to lose weight. I provided her GP with a second stool sample so I am waiting for those results and tomorrow we are going to the hospital as her doctor wants bloods taken. Something I thought would be beneficial to her has turned out to be a total nightmare and it’s all my fault for giving it to her. PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THIS TO YOUR BABY OR CHILD UNDER 12, PLEASE DONT! I’ll update if and when she has further tests or a diagnosis :-( Update 20/02/21 - my daughter had a blood test at the hospital last week so we are awaiting results. She had to have blood taken from both arms. Not pleasant at all for a 2 year old. She started passing some blood 2 days ago so now the GP wants a THIRD stool sample to check for faecal calprotectin (inflammatory marker for inflammatory bowel disease). My daughter is still having watery, runny nappies. Despite me using sensitive wipes, Kleenex balsam tissues to dry her and metanium cream (THE best nappy cream- I’ve used it on my children for over 15 years)- she has the worst nappy rash. It’s like her poop is like acid and I’m hot on changing her nappy straight away. The fact she is constantly pooping and for her a month now, is giving her a complex about having a poo and changing her nappy - not what a parent wants for their child. I distract her with her iPad watching YouTube For Kids; with 50/50 distraction rate. I’ve probably said this several zillion times please please please DO NOT give this to your baby or child or any children under 12 years old (even older than 12, please consider carefully). There’s not a day go by that I have to sit and watch my daughter suffer, being totally powerless to make the situation right that I put wrong in the first place. Final update: 22nd July 2021 - after 6 months of my 2 year old suffering diarrhoea 6-10 times a day as a direct result of taking this supplement. She was referred to her paediatrician and she suggested lactose intolerance as a result of the probiotics causing inflammation in her gut. My daughter went lactose free with gradual success. It took months for her bowels to heal. Now, 6 months on from me giving her this god awful product, she can now have normal bowel movements! 6 months of pure hell! She’s had the worst nappy rash & she’s been in so much pain. Please carefully consider buying this product.
