The complete 2 hour performance that was released at London's Hammersmith Odeon in 1984! The footage include 5 songs that the band thought had been erased by their record company, but had merely been misplaced in the archives. Onstage personnel included Andrew Latimer (guitars, flutes, vocals), Colin Bass (bass, vocals), Paul Burgess, Ton Scherpenzeel & Richie Close (keyboards) and Chris Rainbow (vocals). The show also features guest appearances by Mel Collins (sax) and former band member, the late Peter Barden's (keyboards). The disc also features an interview with Andrew Latimer for Mirror Image that was recorded at the time of the performance and broadcast on British television.

Supersedes every previous CD and video version
This fantastic live DVD releases the complete concert best known as Pressure Points. The sound and performances are excellent, even if the cameramen don't seem to know who's who: they focus on bassist Colin Bass singing backing vocals when Chris Rainbow's singing lead, they focus on Rainbow playing rhythm keyboards while Ton Scherpenzeel (Kayak) or the little-known but talented Richie Close are soloing, and they show hardly any of Pete Bardens' playing, even though he's the guest of honor! But there's no doubt that the actual cinematic results (lighting, close-ups, tracking shots) look very professional. As for the bonus material, the TV interview with Latimer from the same tour is a nice period piece, but the real gem is "Added Pressure," the four-track "lost" set that was salvaged from a previously-forgotten reference copy of the entire show. Evidently, the director thought the footage too dimly shot to use so scrapped much of the opening set. It looks fine to me, though, and the playing and sound quality are great (though in mono here, I believe): La Princesse Perdue, Hymn to Her, a rocking Never Let Go (with terrific solos from Andy, Ton, and especially Richie), and a superb Unevensong where Rainbow's vocals really shine. I loved the single-disc vinyl back in the 80s; I'm in awe of the massively expanded video set now!

Camel at it's best
This DVD is great. At first it looked old by video, but way into the concert found out it was just Camel's smoke for effects. If you like Stationary Traveller this is the DVD for you. Most of this DVD is from that LP; but did have some music from Nude and Snow Goose. For me; it did not have any Moonmadness of which I love as an LP. A excellent buy.

Another good concert from Camel . It is an older show than Coming Of Age but the show is every bit as good . Recommended for any fan of Camel .

Camel lites
I just saw this concert DVD for the first time (I've only been listening to Camel for nine months), and I have to say, I'm quite amazed. The video quality and editing is top-notch, the band is tight, the mix is good (perhaps a tad keyboard and reverb heavy, but this was the 80s), and is a good career overview leading up to '84.Stationary Traveller is moderately represented, and while it's not my favorite Camel album, the songs turn out much better live than the studio. Andy Latimer is the only original band member here, and plays guitar with an incredible amount of passion. It's somewhat similiar to David Gilmour's tone on a few tracks, but a little lighter and faster at times. He also provides the main vocals and occasional flute.Total Pressure is an expanded version of their Pressure Points VHS/DVD, and includes several bonus songs (almost 1/3rd is new here) and an interview from 1984-85.Highly recommended for fans of either classic prog or AOR. There's something to love for everyone.

This is way better than I thought it would be. The video and audio quality is the best for the time period. The performance is just outstanding, wish I caught them live........

One I missed
I only recently came across this band by purchasing Echoes, a two cd compilation which I enjoyed greatly. This concert DVD while lacking the prodution of modern era concert movies is still a pleasure to watch. It features a superb performance by a very talented group.

Superbe concert

80s CAMEL
I had the VHS of 'Pressure Points' in the 80s and was disappointed by the artsy interruptions to the concert footage. With 'Total Pressure' those interruptions are gone, revealing Camel is yet another of its full-flight eras (there have been many). Andrew Latimer's guitar work and songwriting may be the key appeal for me, but the band - with Paul Burgess drumming, Colin Bass on bass, Chris Rainbow etc. - is also first class. Some original Camel fans thought the band was getting too commercial at this point (I'd say 'accessible', not 'commercial'), but possibly in retrospect those critics will now appreciate this period of a band that has never been anything less than excellent in its intent and execution. Video quality isn't 100%, but this is early 80s; we should be thankful it exists.

Total Pressure by Camel
I have just received this superb concert DVD featuring Camel who are one of the finestProg Rock bands who are so underated it is not true. Andrew Latimer is a fantasticguitarist - one of the finest there is.This show at the Hammersmith Odeon is well worthgetting as all the musicans play so well and Mike Mansfield does an excellent job of directing. The stand out track is the encore = Lady Fantasy with a guest appearence from thelate Peter Bardens - Colin Bass is playing Bass as he has done so since 1979 andis a great foil for Andrew Latimer - also try out the extended Double CD = Pressure Pointstoo it is so good and is a audio copy of this brilliant show.
