I needed a bit this size for a project at home. I check the hardware and building stores and no one had this size for just one bit. Ordering was easy and shipping fast. I was using it on wood and it cut like a champ. It seems to be made of quality material.

Had to return, was the wrong size for my drill. Seemed like a nice bit though.

I have yet to use this bit, ergo, this review contemplates Tool Deals, the vendor, only. I purchased this bit to fill-in for one that I had recently damaged from an Irwin set. The vendor, Tool Deals, packed the bit well and shipped it promptly; it proved, no surprise, to be accurately described, too. As such, Tool Deals merits the five-star rating. I gave myself a minus five-star rating for having ineptly managed to break a fundamentally stellar product; I shall commence standing face-to-the-corner for the requisite sixty minutes, as soon as I hit the, "Submit" button. I had six 1/2 holes in 3/8 steel that I needed to drill out to 9/16. I would have expected to easily make it through this task with one brand new bit. But the 5th hole was difficult and I ended up finishing the sixth hole with a file.

I needed a 9/16 bit to drill a hole in a metal door for a peep hole lens. This silver and deming style bit is machined clean withfacet shaft to keep it from slipping in the chuck. I can't verify how hard the metal is. But for the price it seemed nicer than others. I have other Irwin tools and they seem a step up in quality overall, so I check them out when comparing.
