A good exta
We have so many slang sayings in the English language it can be confusing to those who are learning. This type of book can help.

Title missleading, too many British only idiom and slang
Although the title says, “American” idiom and slang, at least a quarter of them are British only.I still use this as one of the textbooks, but I have to point out each time when the idiom or slang is not used in America.

Booster for my English
I like this book very much and it’s good for my understanding of watching English series without cc function.

Don't use in an ESL class!
I had really high hopes for this book but I am sorely diappointed. There are many, many typos and mistakes in the book. There is an entire definition page that lists the parts of speech used on the page, but the words aren't even labeled with the parts of speech (chapter 8). The formatting is inconsistent and can be confusing. Some answers are already completely fill-out so students don't get the opportunity to practice all the words. Some of the idioms/slang words are inappropriate for high schoolers. If you want to buy this book to practice on your own, fine, but don't be fooled into thinking that you can use this in an actual classroom. This book needs an editor!

Terrible resource
Besides inappropriate conversations for a classroom setting, there are many spelling and grammar errors throughout the book. Not even worth one star. This was a waste of money.

Many errors and most isn’t American slang
It’s not worth it. Seems like the author didn’t even bother learning to spell or proofread. There are a lot of spelling mistakes and words used in the wrong context. A lot of the words used aren’t even “American” slang but used more in the UK. Save your $$.
