Make The Butter Look As Outstanding As Your Fresh Baked Bread
Bread and butter is something we serve at many of our meals. My family loves homemade bread, so it is one of the highlights of dinner. The butter for it, however, always ended up on a saucer or salad plate that wasn't quite as pretty or special as the bread or even the rest of the meal. So when I saw that my favorite ceramic kitchenware line had produced a mini loaf pan that can double as a butter dish, I knew that I had to have it. Like the other pieces in this collection, it is beautifully adorned with hand painted lavender flowers - a single flower on one side, four on the other. The edges of the dish are decoratively scalloped and the dish is just deep enough for a single stick of butter. The underside of the dish is marked with the Arousing Appetites branding and is unglazed.Ceramic kitchenware needs special care and this dish is no different. You do not want to expose it to temperature extremes very quickly. If you remove it from the oven, don't put it right in the refrigerator or it may cause it to crack. You can refrigerate in the dish, just make sure it has cooled down to close to room temperature first. You also never want to expose this to direct heat, like a flame or stovetop burner as that may also damage the dish.Because the bottom of the dish is unglazed, you want to be sure you have something under it, so the rough texture doesn't scratch your furniture.To wash your pottery do not soak it in water (pottery is made from clay after all!), but hand wash and dry your dish. I prefer not to place mine in the dishwasher due to the amount and length of time it is exposed to water and also because if things shift while being washed it could break the dish. The manufacturer does tell you, however, that this dish is dishwasher, microwave and oven safe.All the extra effort is worth it. This dish is impressive and beautiful and you will receive tons of compliments each time you use it. Sometimes the smallest touches, like this dish, help make your dinners more than just dinner, but an event where everything looks as good as it tastes. Oh my I cannot say enough about this dish! It makes the cutest little loaves of bread. It is also perfect for small pound cakes or other desserts. The uses for this dish are endless and I would recommend you buy at least two. I am absolutely in love with all of these dishes. They are not only beautiful but absolutely wonderful to use and bake in! They are a crème color with a very pretty lavender design. They are hand painted so even though they all have the same design each one is unique. Stunning well made ceramic ware
The small five inch ceramic deep butter dish is a stunning addition to the lavender collection. As stated in the description it is a smaller dish. It is extremly versatile due to the quality craftmanship and material. It can be used as a butter dish, for dips, for baking mini loafs of bread, a personal casserole, etc. It does well in the microwave, oven, and toaster oven withstanding temps as hot as 400 degrees farenheit (the highest temp I used it with so can attest for).The ceramic deep butter dish is easily cleaned with a mild detergent and sponge. As with all ceramic it should not be soaked. If you lightly oil the inside of the dish, there should be no need to soak it as it wipes clean with little effort.Each of the longer sides of the dish has a different pattern. On one side there are multiple lavender flowers and the other has a single flower. This unique touch of having varying patterns of lavender makes the dish even more lovely. The top edges are smooth and beautifully designed.In summation I highly recommend this unique and beautiful piece of ceramic ware and if I could give it more stars I would!I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review

Beautiful dish!
I have several other pieces from this collection, and I love this butter/mini loaf pan just as much as the others! The butter dish is the perfect size to serve not only butter in, but also many other condiments. It also works beautifully as a candy or nut dish. The fact that it is oven and microwave safe makes it even better, and opens it up to so many other uses! I can see using this for a hot dip or spread! The lavender design is beautiful, and stands out gorgeously against the cream colored base. The workmanship of these pieces is superb, and I love that they are so easy to care for. They are dishwasher safe (although I hand wash my stoneware pieces) and the seller send a little tip sheet on how to care for them. As with the other pieces in this set that I have (I want more!) I am sure they will become family heirlooms to be passed down. Truly stunning pieces.
