Blade very dull, could cause injuries with so much force to try to get through the blade. I tested potatoes for my review.

Wow! This mandolin is a great deal for the price and it does exactly what it says it does. It seems sturdier than I expected too. Since I cut the tip of a finger off with an early model mandolin, many years ago, I really appreciate all the safety features it has. It was really easy to wash by hand and store, as well.

UPDATE: After using every blade that comes with this mandolin, I have come across the same problem with each of them. The blades are not sharp enough to actually cut your food. Even easy to slice peeled cucumbers got crushed by the dull blade! I am returning this product for a full refund and definitely wouldn't recommend this to any of my friends or family. When I first pulled this mandolin out of the box I was amazed at how well constructed and sturdy it seemed compared to my old flimsy one. All the blades are neatly stored within the unit itself, making it very easy to store and keep organized. Before I even had a chance to use it, I was impressed and looking forward to using it. I like how solid the food holder feels and it is very easy to grip so it won't slip out of your hand. I love that this comes with a perpetual peeler too. Now I can peel my asparagus without the fear of snapping it. I haven't had a chance to use every single blade and grater yet, but so far I am really impressed with the overall presentation of this mandolin. I will update further once I've had a chance to use this more extensively.
