Bought Two - Both Failed
I bought two of these for recent travel specifically because I wanted a second on the off-chance one happened to go missing in transit. After all, bags get rough handling at airports as their loaded and unloaded. That said, for *both* of these to fall off your luggage when they're meant to be an added line of security is something entirely different. The first vanished altogether -- as my bag came out on the carousel missing the strap, I assumed it was because Airport Security looked in my bag and I'd find it packed inside. Not the case. The second strap was more telling as my bag came out and it was dragging behind by the side handle I had looped it through. The buckle had held but the strap was completely slack.I've had straps like this before -- the last one lasting me the better part of ten years. I certainly know how to tighten them and make them work, and these recent purchases function the same way. The straps on these are slick and do not hold the tightening buckle in place well at all, and I imagine this is why both came off so easily.Additionally, the buckle is bigger and more high profile than most -- which would be fine if it weren't a hollow plastic. Even before realizing these were duds, I was giving the side eye to the buckle thinking it wouldn't last through too much airport roughhousing.Save yourself the money. Evidently *no* strap is better than these straps.

JUNK!
I own several swiss gear and/or swiss army items and, until now, I gladly paid a premium price for them. As it turns out, their top-notch quality was well worth the extra investment. Alas, that is no longer the case. I bought this luggage strap and its plastic buckle failed in sixty days. I went to a big box store competitor of yours and paid half for a generic version of this item and I've had it now for the better part of a YEAR and it STILL has not failed. It looks brand-new! What happened? Help me understand this failure to meet expectations.
